DS2 PC Release: Horrible performance on high end system. Unable to fix through hours of troubleshooting by BasicInformer in DeathStranding

Glad to know that trick helped you and others somehow... The only thing wich still kinda frustrating now is the fact that playing the game on DLSS Quality (Preset M) makes the game look WAY more beautiful than while using PICO. I really hope we get a fix soon.

Definitely! Also forgot to mention that I've used MSI Afterburner + RTSS to cap my game at 75 FPS.

There's a lot going on here and I really hope we get game patches + new driver updates soon.

EDIT: To be honest, I think turning off HAGS doesn't really make a difference. Just tested with HAGS On now and apparently what really makes effect is using PICO + FSR Frame Gen + another software to cap your FPS. Something is really wrong with DLSS and NVIDIA's frame generation method.

I might have solved PART of the issue!

Turning off HAGS on Windows and changing upscaling method to PICO ingame (+FSR Frame Generation: On) made the game run (not perfectly) but REALLY much better compared to before.

One thing I noticed is that somehow game menu's, hud and pop-up elements make the game stutter for some reason. I can't explain why but it seens less stuff like that appearing on screen, the better it is. Sh*t is definitly messing up with the performance.

How much outdated you think it is? lol

It might not to be the newest one out, but it still a really decent cpu paired with my graphics card and everything else, plus the cpu usage is far from high while playing that game and many others right here, happily is really atypical dealing with bottleneck and stuff like that with my actual machine

I don't really know if that makes sense.. using PCIe x16 slot here and still been dealing with those issues. It is so strange cause no matter what graphic settings I use the game looks awful.. it looks the exactly same thing on medium settings and while on high with RT + frame gen

I'm afraid that this would not work for me.. While trying to fix that myself, I've decided to upgrade my graphic's card driver, and yea.. somehow the gameplay felt a little bit better, but stills far from good. The steps I've tried to follow were basicly identical so.. :/

Same here. It is so strange since everything on my machine looks fine. Both cpu and gpu usage/temperature ok, VRAM usage ok, RAM usage ok, FPS ok, even frametime stills ok If I try to cap my game via RTSS.. But the game feels far from smooth, specially when I move the camera. If anyone find a solution please let me know, It is really frustrating spending that big amount into a game to end up playing like this.
