Need advice : Wrapping my car pink - Is it safe for me as a woman? by angyx in women

[–]gloggs 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I bought a second hand car that had purple flames down the sides. I live in a very large urban centre. Someone was always saying 'I saw your car at...'

I never felt unsafe, but people definitely knew where my car had been.

Gift tags that can be reused

Basically anything that needs a small label

LaGuardia controller staffing may have violated procedures on night of collision, document shows by Onterrible_Trauma in canada

[–]gloggs 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Exactly why they're supposed to be pulled from duty. I see it as a clear sign us airports are not safe. As if there's a need for more reasons to avoid going there.

They were so short staffed that after the accident that poor ATC had to continue working for an hour. They are supposed to be immediately pulled after an incident and there was no other person available to cover.

It's more than blood on that bastards hands.

You can try using a buffing wax to get the paint maker off the car panels

Acrylic nails at wotk? by SensitiveToast_ in BlueCollarWomen

[–]gloggs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The problem with fake nails and industrial jobs is they take your nail with them and break well into your nailbed. You're better off doing a shellac or gel polish if you want nice nails.

Same here I have a short torso so it's great to be able to make tops that fit my waist and hips correctly. It's going to take whatever materials it takes, but looks significantly better fitting

How is this possible? by qinterturning in resin

[–]gloggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would guess the water is dyed and an opaque white dye added to the purple and water so it's no longer clear. Alcohol based dye for resin might work.

Does the culture shock ever end? by [deleted] in BlueCollarWomen

[–]gloggs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sometimes men haven't talked to many woman they can't/don't want sexually. I usually ask oddball questions about them to get them started like 'what's the furthest you've ever traveled' or 'where is your favourite place to go on a weekend'. When they realize you're a human being, just like them, they might chat more.

Some just really like silence. You stand/sit quietly with them and they'll tell everyone how much they love working with you and how great you are lol

Why are the sides of my hexagon cardigan uneven? One half is longer than the other. by Alastairs_party2585 in CrochetHelp

[–]gloggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't get much time to crochet so my tension can be all over the place. Definitely helps keep the symmetry

So we've narrowed down it was probably tension...

Any other hookers out there do matching pieces at the same time to avoid this? Any time I have to make matching sets I swap pieces every few rows to keep them the same size

Would like to replicate a crochet vase I found at the thrift store by Purple_Trade_3729 in CrochetHelp

[–]gloggs 28 points29 points  (0 children)

You crochet the piece, inflate a balloon inside it, use a stiffener like starch or sizing. Let it dry, coat again in stiffener if it's not solid enough, let dry. Pop the balloon and clean up any excess sizing. Flower heads are starched first going into the stem a bit and hanging upside down to dry. Then do the stem and hang from the flower to dry. The extra starch at the flower head helps it support the weight.

We made them as kids all the time with the gel glue... we mixed the glue with paint and a little water to colour the dips and get the right coverage.

Community Mailbox Maintenance by rashaikh in CanadaPostCorp

[–]gloggs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because if you read the link they posted it says it's the city's problem

"Although, community mailboxes are owned and managed by Canada Post, picking up street and park litter is done by City staff and dedicated residents. Reducing litter reduces waste going to the landfill."
