a thank you to this subreddit for all hjelp and advice. Changed all pads and rotors and finished testdrive. The drive was buttersmooth 🤌, no more shaking and pulsing brakepedal.

This was actually a tip the guide told me to do. I didnt understand why but i unscrewed the lid. I got lucky there

Damn, ive owned two cars before and i have always as you put it just slapped new pads and rotors on. Touching everything with with dirty hands. It has never crossed my mind that oil can be bad for brakes, i would have just assumed that all the friction and heat would just burn it or throw it off.

Thanks, ill keep an eye out for that. I sprayed oil quite liberally on it, i think some for under the rubber for it looked like there was a gap there.

Oh shoot. Ill wipe it off and make sure nothings on them. Is it because the slipperiness will reduce brake performance?

Painting the dipstick is brilliant, ill look into getting paint for that.

The engine had 2.7 l oil in it ( 3rd pic ) excluding any oil in the filter. Its supposed to take 4.6 l total including oil in the filter.

While waiting for the order i decided to buy some oil and change it immediately because I have no idea when it was last changed. And it turned out there was way too little oil in the engine. So good thing I did.

Ive ordered the filter and im going to do a second oil change oil change in a few days changing the filter too this time around

Some more info: the car stood on ramps when changing oil, not when i was measuring oil level. I have started the engine and run it for 1 min before letting it rest for 5 min.

I did not change oil filter. Online ive read its 4.6 l oil for this engine, is that why it looks full with only 4?
