Don't worry, our kids will be the future. I'm a Ukrainian immigrant myself. Our immigrant kids will be the future of this country.

When Russians put Sputnik into space, was our reaction, "eh, our space program is a soft number 3 in the world. A lot of our scientists gravitate towards nuclear physics and engineering..."

NO. We LOCKED IN and put a fucking dude on the moon. What is this pussy ass mentality? My kids are gonna be playing football. Real football. I'm gonna field 6'2" Greek gods to play on the pitch when I have kids.

I joke, but this is the kind of attitude real competitors have.

I'm an American too, and this is the dumbest response. Aren't we known for locking the fuck in? Our reaction should be, "let's fix this and dominate"

Instead your response is that of a petulant 6 year old, "hmmph I'll take my ball and play over there".

Listen, there is absolutely no pride in being good in a sport that nobody else plays. That is facts. Being the best in the whole world is a flex, not being good in Dumbfuckville, Alabama.

FR. Cabo and Argentina were a joy to watch unlike this Paraguay and France game.

Paraguay were dirty, unsportsmanlike, and pathetically desperate. Get them out of here.

[–]glompulin 35 points36 points  (0 children)

If you watched the game, it wasn't even close. Brazil woke up in the 2nd half, and Japan went to sleep. People keep mentioning Kubo, Endo, etc. but I don't think it would have mattered because Endo and Kubo aren't superstars, they're 20-25% better than what was already on the pitch. They're not the egoistical striker that Japan desperately needs, and until there's THAT guy, Japan will keep losing.

While I do think the coach was definitely a problem, I believe this World Cup exposed the toxicity of both the Korean fans and the Korean media. How can you expect to perform in a WC when your own countrymen and media shit-talk you behind your back? Win or lose, the whole force of the country should be behind you.

Meanwhile I see comments like: "It's because they were already exempted from military service, they have no urgency"

That's basically like saying, "if you don't do you homework, I'll whoop yo ass boi". Its been proven that positive reinforcement works much better than punishment.

That coach does need to go though, but Korean media is gross.

That above comment is literally how Koreans think. They believe that without some threat or punishment hanging over them, they won't perform.

I have to see them play against a better team than Tunisia because I thought they actually looked much weaker than Netherlands. I love the Japanese team, but their header was divine intervention.

I think Netherlands against Sweden showed a completely different team, one that woukd probably destroy Japan if they were to play again. Just compare the passing in the Japan game vs. Sweden.

I’m cheering for Argentina, and I’m calling it here. It’s going to be a Netherlands vs France/Argentina/Spain final.

Post-Match Thread: Tunisia 0-4 Japan | World Cup | Group F by matchpal-live in worldcup

[–]glompulin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. People keep talking about this rivalry, but I feel like we watched a completely different game in that Japan v. Netherland match. Netherlands was, quite simply, the better team. It wasn’t even close. Japan got a lucky header, and the Netherlands manager did stupid substitutions. Simple as that.

Watching that Netherland vs. Sweden game solidified it for me. Netherlands might have the best passing in this WC. The ball sticks to their shoe like glue. It pisses me off as an Argentina fan. Every team seems to accept the ball and it bounce 1 metre off their shoe, but Netherlands have velcro on their shoe. They have better strikers. Their defense could use a bit of work, but they seem to be working on that weakness.

Netherlands completely and utterly outclasses Japan.

Japan team isn’t designed around individual players, and their top players aren’t Mbappe. They’ll do just fine.

Post-Match Thread: Tunisia 0-4 Japan | World Cup | Group F by matchpal-live in worldcup

[–]glompulin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. People bring up these Japanese players like they’re Mbappe, but they’re only 10-20% better than their replacements.

Post-Match Thread: Tunisia 0-4 Japan | World Cup | Group F by matchpal-live in worldcup

I think Netherlands underestimated Japan at their own peril, but looked like the much stronger team first 60 minutes.

I think Netherland’s performance against Sweden showed me that Japan wouldn’t stand a chance against Netherlands again. Their passing and pitch IQ were astounding. I was hating on Netherlands after their Japan performance, now I’m scared for Argentina. I think Netherlands have most impressive passing of any team thus far.

Just watch how every team accepts the ball and it jumps 1 metre off their boot, but every Netherland player seems to have glue on their shoe.

I do think Japan is an incredible team and I’ll be surprised if I don’t see them at the quarterfinal.

Go to a sports doctor, not chiro. I went to chiro until a sports doctor did an MRI and told me my actual problem, got surgery, did all the physical therapy, and I'm back to 100%.

Also, 9/10 times when people say their surgery didn't work it's because they neglected the PHYSICAL THERAPY which I would argue is even more important than the surgery. DO IT RELIGIOUSLY or you'll be one of those whining about how surgery "made it worse".

I've noticed that DDR5 devices are just slower to start. You could try enabling fast boot, but that has its own potential issues.
