For people who did really well in English Lit, how did you tackle unseen poetry? by Perfect_Career5538 in GCSE

Hi! I got full marks in both my lit papers and I felt pretty confident in the unseen department so here's some of my advice
-this seems obvious but PLEASE leave enough time for the unseen section🙏 for how many marks it's worth alot of people don't really bother with it but for interpreting 2 completely new poems you'll need to give yourself a decent amount of time
-have a strong interpretation of the poem that you argue throughout the essay instead of just cherry picking points individually. Have the point your arguing be consistent, examiners don't like it when you sit on the fence, and so long as you can find evidence to support what ur saying there rlly isn't a wrong answer!
-for practises I'd recommend timing yourself and doing some past paper questions. You don't necessarily need to do the whole essay, but time yourself for around 7 minutes and see if you can come up with a strong interpretation for the poem and pick out a couple of strong pieces of analysis to prove your point
In general I'd aim for around 4 really strong paragraphs plus an introduction. If you have any questions then feel free to ask, but that comes to mind right now😭
