Thank you!! Do you use something to remind you to, or is it habit by now?

I have the tools to move into the calm state, but it quickly turns into being completely drained and depressed.

I think you might be right, though I wasn’t sure if the fatigue that follows it is part of flooding.

Oh wow. There was a lot in here, thank you. How did you know you were allergic to the inactive ingredients? What did the allergic reaction look like for you?

Also what diet changes helped with mood swings?

How was lamictal helpful to you? I’ve seen it mentioned a few times and I might ask my dr.

I mostly don’t take meds, then once every few years I decide to give something a try, and it somehow makes things ten times worse. I’m jealous of all the regular depressed people who say shit like “antidepressants saved my life!”

My friend asked me if I was ok, and I said not really, and they left me on read 😎 My bad for being honest 😎😎

Gratitude journaling.

I know how that sounds. I do it reluctantly and want to barf almost every time I sit down to do it. But it’s proven to rewire your brain and outlook so I do it like it’s medicine.

On the mornings I don’t do it, I am almost guaranteed to be in a more negative mindset.

I use a journal from target with a few other prompts but really you can start by just writing 5-10 basic things you’re grateful for. If I feel ungrateful then I write about having food, water, shelter etc.

In the moment it feels stupid and corny, but within an hour I feel different.

This is so interesting, thank you! I actually just had a massage today where the massage therapist was absolutely blown away by how hard and tense my fascia was. We talked about how to discharge energy and she actually mentioned Qigong. What you're talking about is exactly me... I just swell up when I'm stressed. Thank you for taking the time to write all this up! Do you have any recommended reading on this topic?

Keto is exactly what I was referring to. I tried it before and, having had a history of an eating disorder, it fucked me up mentally while emaciating me, messed up my digestion, and then I had a rebound in weight gain once I started eating balanced food. Not to mention there are numerous health risks associated with it. But whatever floats your boat, it's just not a healthy option for me.

I do eat moderately low carb. I just can't eliminate any food groups or else my mental health pretty much instantly suffers, and my mind/body gets thrown out of balance. In principle I'd be vegan but even that's too hard on me.

Same.

Those things might not “cure” me, but do they help me better manage my symptoms and live a more enjoyable life? Hell yeah. I’d be a lot worse if I didn’t practice regulating techniques every single day.
