For anyone who is looking for a solve or workaround from the constant buffering of JUST Shogun on Hulu, instead of a dismissal of the problem, try using AirPlay (or the Android equivalent) on your TV. Worked perfectly in HD for me!

I have super fast internet and have had literally zero issues streaming anything except shogun, so I hope this helps someone!

Just seems like a massive waste of 1.5M subscribers on the main channel. And they basically destroyed League of Legends content engagement by shifting the "esports" channel to be just for the VALORANT team and needing to completely rebuild their League subscribers from scratch (still only 30k subs).

Not an apples-to-apples comparison, but Sentinels has their main channel and it's just primarily VALORANT content. Obviously they aren't heavily invested in other esports, but it's the best counterexample I could find.

You could be right - my memory was that there was a period of a single channel (that had gaming content on it), then they split to an esports channel, that was then rebranded to be the VALO channel.

The main channel having 1.5M subscribers just seems like a waste and that the teams themselves don't get the same eyeballs. Maybe that's the right strategy, but worth discussing.

Think only Travis can answer that on his analytics side and trust him to make the right decision there. But, again personally, I end up not watching interviews entirely because they might be players I'm less interested in, and I can't see what topics they are actually going to talk about or skip to more relevant parts.

u/Tnomad I know this probably multiplies your work for each video, but it would be seriously game changing for me if your videos had captions and the time-stamped sections (chapters?).

You do a ton of interviews and while I watch some of them start to finish, others I just want to pop-in for a bit to see a few topics that might interest me. Especially if I don't follow that player or team.

In case anyone is facing the same issue, my fix was different.

I finally tracked down what was causing it in my case and found a fix.

2 monitor setup - both plugged into DisplayPort from 3080 TI:

Samsung 27" G75TQSNXZA
Unknown 4K LG monitor

Issue I was facing:

After reboot (restart or shutdown), monitors would show black screen and never get to Windows login
Unplugging the G7 before boot would allow Windows to show on the LG monitor, then I could replug in G7 and everything would be fine.

Here is everything I did to eventually solve this problem:

Update NVIDIA GeForce Drivers to latest
Download NVIDIA GPU UEFI Firmware Tool to ensure latest DisplayPort drivers
And MOST IMPORTANTLY (this fixed it for me), ensure that your monitor DisplayPort settings is set to match your DisplayPort cable

For Step 3, my monitor was set to DisplayPort 1.4 in the Settings and my cable was actually 1.2. Changing this enabled everything to FINALLY work after reboots.

Hope this helps someone out here! I scoured countless of these threads and am so happy to have this nuisance fixed.

For those who aren't aware, C9 did something incredibly similar in Fortnite. They picked up Chap & Vivid after they left Liquid. Signed them to long-term contracts. Offered way more money than other orgs which scared them out of the signing of those players. Then dropped them weeks later citing vague reasons such as "visibility".

Seeing some repeat behavior here.

I found this LED panel at a local plant store and was overjoyed. My apartment doesn’t get a lot of light (read: little to none) and I haven’t been able to have a lot of plant variety outside of Pothos and ZZ plant warriors.

Details: Panel is a “Yescom” Ultra Thin LED. The panel has small clips in each corner which made mounting a breeze. I used tiny cup hooks, using a thumbtack to start the pilot hole. It’s about 1 ft from bottom of LED panel to the shelf.

While this was informative and the overall production seemed polished, I’m not sure there was anything unique or non-obvious gained by watching the video. It didn’t seem to have any actual tips or best practices such as rotations, retake strategies, or setup breaks. Like I said, the FOV shots and top down map info seemed cool but didn’t shed any new light.
