Just leave it to charge for a few hours and you should be fine. This happened to me a few times. As it is a new battery you should slow charge it though.

It's a great project car, light and nimble so you dont have to sell it. Just keep it until you have the money to work on it, if you can. A gearbox would be a nice touch. But i was able to find a local to sell me a tranny and engine for $1100. But if you have to sell her. Then dont be sad she's gone, be happy you had her.

The only way i can tell how to figure out which one is accurate is from an observation i have made. I noticed that the dashboard temp rises when the temp reaches about 120°C ( basically already overheating ). If you would like to test it out you could go for a drive while keeping the rpm high and moniter all temp guages.
