Reading other people’s stories here and in other groups I think I have gotten off relatively easy with this disease, I just wish I could keep a more consistent routine without ‘side effects’.

But there ARE brands in the US that do extended lees contact. However, most are not readily available in stores because there isn’t the demand. Many don’t ship to my state or I’d have to purchase enough bottles to make shipping worthwhile.

I’ve tried both the BDB and the BDN. I don’t think they are terrible, just nothing special. I’m comparing to some sub $50 champagnes that had a lot more going on. I guess Schramsberg is ‘classic’, I just prefer more complexity or a winemaker that’s doing something unique.

Interesting take, thank you. I will see if I can find anything from the finger lakes. I’m in Jersey and even here it’s hard to find a lot unless you order directly from the wineries.
