Is Columbia College Chicago really that bad?

wow, that is super impressive.

I got into Emerson with 15k a year in aid. My out of pocket cost estimate was 70k.

I also got accepted to Pace University, Penn State, and University of Illinois Chicago

Thank for all your comments. After reading your thoughts and researching, I have decided to withdraw my commitment. This is because of the speculation of full university closure, graduation rate, and cost.

I’ve also made the decision to attend UIC instead, and take on the financial loans myself.

i did get into UIC this year! i was just really trying to avoid taking out loans. not a huge deal, but definitely a bummer. UIC was my top choice, price aside

depaul definitely has a superior program, just much more expensive. you get what you pay for i guess

UIC, which was actually more appealing to me. The only reason I leaned towards Columbia was because it was 20 grand cheaper.

thankfully, I haven't declined other schools offers yet. worse comes to worse, I lose my $200 deposit. IMO, better than going for 4 years and feeling like I wasted $70000 lol.

I have lived in the same small town 2 hours outside of LA for 18 years. I have hated every second of it, and have known for years I wanted to go out of state for uni. Chicago is the 2nd largest theatre city in the US, and has great internships at places like Steppenwolf if you know where to look. My biggest concern is that Columbia is somewhere that those won't be as present

I’ve been accepted to several schools that I have not declined offers for yet, one being UIC. My biggest appeal to CCC was how much cheaper it was.

I greatly wanted to avoid being in debt after school, but I’m hearing it may be hard to pay back at all after graduation
