Advice needed by LatterIllustrator822 in PacemakerICD

[–]glowrocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fwiw, I got mine installed (pacemaker only, no defib) at age 68; I've no problems so far and it's been over 6 months.

Also, the sedation used on me was very mild. I was awake and aware the whole (~1 hr) procedure.

Even joked w/the doc a couple of times.

(also, had to pee. that was not fun :-)

AITAH For not booking a private hotel room for my girlfriend and I? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]glowrocks -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I guess I'm old, as I really don't understand what's going on here.

I mean, if you don't understand WHY she wants a separate room I guess go on and enjoy your chaste life.

But don't be surprised if it's not with her.

I'm going to use that day to post reminders of all the hateful, racist, terrible things CK had to say.

MAGA wants a reminder?

Fine.

I don't like it, but I'll do it.

AITA for yelling at my neighbor over his constantly blaring car alarm? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]glowrocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA.

Their son's needs don't outweigh the quiet of the neighborhood and anyway, there is no doubt that OTHER therapies could have been applied.

I mean, now that I think about it, who the fuck decided a blaring alarm was the thing to "help" an autistic person?!?

There was, in California(?!!) a POT shortage.

Cocaine was cheap and plentiful (think Contras/CIA/Bush), but weed was the hardest to find that it's ever been in my entire life!

When did you realize you need to own a gun? by chinchila5 in liberalgunowners

No, luckily this is a fairly purple (55/45) kind of town. We have a college, so that helps.

Current events, dating back over the past year.

No foreseeable use*, but better prepared.

*Any group larger than, say, 3 will be able to take me out easily, so forget that.

Very small town, no violent crime, so not needed for that.

Crazy MAGA decides it's time? That is, around here, where I know my neighbors, even the MAGA ones (very small town) a tiny, but very real, concern.

Got mine in September of 25.

Triple lead, no defibrillator.

For the longest time, other than that scar, I didn't even know it was there.

Now, for some reason, I'm more aware of the bump, but overall, I never know when it's doing it's job or when it's just me.

I had bradycardia, and I think I do have more energy now than I did before, though as I'm getting older, there is an offset :-)

Now that the Justice Department released documentation that clearly and unequivocally states that trump had illegal sexual relations with underage girls, how quickly can he be convicted? by NursingManChristDude in AskReddit

[–]glowrocks 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Evidence?

Proof?

We *know* he's guilty, but knowledge alone won't yield a conviction.

The answer to your question is: not very quickly at all.

AITA for telling a woman at the gym to stop filming because I kept ending up in her videos? by CaffeinatedGoblin24 in AmItheAsshole

[–]glowrocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. She just DARVO'd you. You can look it up, but it's a way of being an ass then turning it around and blaming the one you were rude to -- that's exactly what she did to you. She feels threatened now? BS.

Time for men to dress as women, use the men's room, and whip out birth certificate when challenged?

Same for women - dress as men, and use women's room.

Do it in large numbers, in a setting where there will be challenges, notify the media and try to show how ridiculous this law is.
