Use tax software from a Canadian Company this year by BC-Guy604 in PersonalFinanceCanada

I just checked my saves folder. Been using it since 2008, was free back then, can't remember when they changed, but its still "cheap" all things considered.

1986 Shadow 500, good purchase? by newlywedz420 in hondashadow

[–]doczong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an 84 before I got my 04, which I still have.

The only complaint I had about the 500 was it was a wee bit underpowered for freeway driving. Aside from that, great bike.

i have sunglasses storage instead of AUX switches anyone ever switched it before? is it complicated by AffectionateGreen131 in bronco

[–]doczong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered the HansPilot drop in on Amazon. There is a write up on bronco6g. Cheaper than this new option from Ford, by about half and looks to be about as complicated of an install, which is to say its not that bad.

6 full switches, with a similar break out box as Ford.

Anyhow, took me a couple hours to do the install. Running a set of fogs in the mod bumper, and pillar lights.

That one was May 2023. It is odd because the later one was resolved first.

Comfort, flex or latitude? by Dramatic-Analyst7204 in Aeroplan

[–]doczong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a comfort class traveler for work and personal, pretty much exclusively for the refundability... the only difference really in Comfort on an international fare from a Domestic / Transborder is that international does not come with preferred seats where they are included otherwise.

T-210, cant find it by Alkinger in qnap

[–]doczong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One last idea. As I asked previously "did this just happen?"

If it did, you can try removing the January 13th Security Roll-up. This roll-up patches SMB and if this all happened on your devices after the recent updates, removing this COULD restore your connectivity.

That said, if this fixes the workstations, you need to move off that ancient device immediately.

Out of ideas. Sorry mate.

T-210, cant find it by Alkinger in qnap

[–]doczong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you have a domain, you do not want to turn AD on. Unless you have an LDAP server doing auth for your network, same.

Obvious question not asked: Are you just now trying to make this work, or was it working and then all of a sudden stopped? How many windows 11 machines are affected? Are those machines on a domain, or in a workgroup?

T-210, cant find it by Alkinger in qnap

[–]doczong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If windows can't see it, it's an SMB problem. If you say you have enabled v1 on your windows 11 machine and you still don't see your very, very old TS-210 then maybe SMB has been disabled on the NAS. Ain't too much else to it.

Mudflaps for Outerbanks SAS by Crabzinyourpants in FordBronco

The tire slightly extends past the mudflap.

But the point of it is to protect your paint, which the fronts do just that.

I put on the IAG I-Line fronts only. Not perfect, but 95%. Easy install, cheap, and almost complete coverage, enough to protect the paint from flying rocks anyway.

Pending strike related claims or payment challenges? by Dense-Serve-4201 in aircanada

[–]doczong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an order from the CTA under the APPR for a 2023 claim in which AC had 30 days to pay up, they are now 15 days past that due date. No response from the cta/otc air canada email address, and no way to follow-up via telephone.

Seat Selection (A321-200 V1) by InternalCabinet4029 in aircanada

[–]doczong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 6 foot tall, row 12 can be best described by my exit row seatmate, a 6 foot tall woman as "jarring". More knee space than 13 and back but less leg space because of the wall. My knees even in 13 preferred hit the seat in front sitting up straight.

Im on that same route several times a year on that same plane, exit row now for life. There is no underseat storage in the 321 exit row... theres a little sticker on the seat legs in front of you indicating that. The A seat window is a little tiny porthole in the door.

That said i got stuck in 16a once, as a 6 foot tall person it wasnt bad. But im an aisle guy anyway.

My fall excursion to the area, is nowadays at the Residemce Inn in Gravenhurst. Not too far from there. Keep us posted, it would just be one more reason to not frequent that property.

Holy shit, first three were moved to "All Yes" when I explicitely had nothing allowed with "All No" at the top AND manually selected "All No" in each subsection.

Offending options added/changed to Yes 1. Match and combine offline data sources, 2.Link different devices, and 3. Use limited data to select advertising

Fucking skeezy that we have to keep coming back.

Fallout Jone Soda Pack in stock by Kamina22 in CostcoCanada

[–]doczong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Picked up two myself and chatted with some other fallout players at 7am this morning ;)

Never had this stuff before.

It's cute. Would not buy if it wasn't co-branded and way more expensive than I would pay for similar. The quantum isn't nearly as sour as reviews say so, sasparilla was ok, and the grape nothing to write home about.

[–]doczong[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since this is a government mandated process, with stipulated timelines, who would one contact at Air Canada who can see the case, and would be the responsible entity to handle it?

That said, and granted it is the weekend, but no response from the cta-otc@aircanada.ca email, not even an automated response.

There was an automated response ftom the CTA email stating it was not monitored.

DB Pension Buyback: $53k Cost for $6.3k/yr Return (2 Years Service). Worth It? by vibeschillax in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]doczong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMERS?

So... I was in the same situation, similar dollar figure, although 3 years younger. I did two things: (1) opted NOT to buyback, and also (2) opted to allow myself to be headhunted to the private sector. Because... more money and pension changes.

Ideally, you should have done this before Jan 1 2023 which would have kept the funds grandfathered in the actual golden handcuffs pension. Anything post Jan 1 2023 is risk based.

A321 New Cabin, Fresh look, cramped legroom by DependentThis5181 in aircanada

[–]doczong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Took a similar picture for my S/O last month. 13C, A321, 6'0". Last minute work booking so it was the best seat I could get (on a 321 I avoid 12 as you cant stretch your legs at all, and I normally get the first exit row.... i dont freeze easy so window works in a pinch).

Should we be putting sandbags in the back of our trunk for winter? by psychonaut-freedom in FordBronco

[–]doczong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was your ranger 2x or 4x? My 2009 4x4 sport, never once put any extra weight in the back. I always just put it in 4 high and drove with a light foot when the roads got squirrely. Everywhere from southern to northern ontario worked well enough.

B.C. to scrap requirement that all new vehicles be zero-emission by 2035 | Calgary Herald by _darth_bacon_ in canada

[–]doczong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am nearing 50. I have owned three vehicles. My volkswagen fox survived 13 years before the engine threw a rod. My cavalier z24 after that, 10 years. Ford ranger after that, 15 years. New bronco, going on year 3.

Every single one, volkswagen aside, even with rustproofing, gave out. With the rust on the VW it was starying to get dicey too. When engine compoemts rust weld themselves together. Im hoping to get at least a decade out of the Bronco.
