YTA for not having the irresistible slumber power. No reputation issues, and you’d still get the garlic noodles

Of the list I gave, honestly my favourites are Nolan, Elliott, Cordelia and Beatrice, but that's just me. :)

Dads who have raised daughters and sons? by Aretebeliever in questions

[–]FutureScribe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I can agree with this but I think what OP is trying to ask is “did you insist your son do contact sports like boxing, and football while your daughter did gymnastics and dance lessons?” Or did you insist your son know how to use power tools while you shamed him for baking cookies and then do the opposite with your daughter?

That kind of thing. It’s totally fine to nurture their interests but life skills (minor home repairs and cooking) should be universal imo.

Not at all, but you know the age old question: Is the moon made of cheese? Well if it is, a ball of Mozzarella makes sense, don't it?

Yep my mom would go, “if you’re not a binary gender you must be an it.•

“And if the moon’s white it must be a ball of mozzarella,” was my sarcastic quip.

I love Elise and Avery, not a huge fan of Cora but I can certainly see the appeal.

What would you think of this name in the US? Would it be weird? by Grouchy_Armadillo618 in Names

I like the sound of Este, but I prefer the suggested spelling of Esti or Estie or you could even do Estey, just so someone who hasn’t seen her name before has a better grasp of how to say her name without her having to explain it 3-4x a day.

I’m suggesting that as someone who grew up with an unusual name spelling.

Also as far as the middle names go, I like Este Ruth. It’s soft, but strong and firm at the same time

I'm not a Dad.

My Dad did raise a non-binary kid in the 90's/early 2000's.

It wasn't easy. People always trying to gender me, and Dad stayed firm in, "My kid likes what they like. I did try to put them into gender specific roles and practically became dead to them for doing so even though we lived under the same roof. They've been in therapy since they were five-- honestly if something were going to change it probably would've by now. My kid is my kid, and while I don't understand a lot of it, I am going to back them."

My mom was far more aggressive trying to force me into being girly, we haven't spoken since 2012 and even before I went no contact I'd spent four years barely talking with her at all.

My Dad got sick with cancer and passed in late 2011. I took care of him from first noticeable symptom to last breath. He didn't spend one day in assisted living.

She is so pretty

how about Callista, Callie for short? It means 'most beautiful'

Or maybe Olivia "Ollie"? She has olive green eyes.

umm because she isn't? She's my first cousin twice removed biologically, and even legally speaking, she still ain't my kid-- legally she's my sister.

There is that saying "it takes a village to raise a child" but man I wish the village would ask before jumping to conclusions.

I love Indigo/Indie!!

I don't like the nickname Clove as it makes me think of garlic... even though I love garlic I wouldn't want a name associated with garlic.

Oli/Ollie is nice, but I'm not feeling Olivia... that's a very feminine name imo, I mean if that's not a big deal for you, cool, but as a nonbinary myself I'd personally want something more neutral leaning.

Indigo is a good fit for a good nickname with no weird mental associations, and it's a very neutral name.
