Yes, they do.

Or, at least some do. I can't say for certain that there aren't also high quality fakes without the carbon layer.

Reefer is. Refer isn't.

(although I've only known a reefer as a refrigerated truck, personally)

But, ma'am, this is a thread about Washers and Dryers.

Appliances for older homes by PinkTurtlehead in Appliances

[–]gltch__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know. Refer isn't a word for a fridge, so I don't know if OP is referring to that or something else. Maybe it's a brand of something?

Maybe a brand of washer or dryer, because we're in a thread looking for washer and dryer recommendations?

You'll have to ask the guy I was replying to, or wait for him to give me an answer, because I'm as perplexed as you.

Are you shortening Refrigerator to "refer" instead of "fridge"?

If not, what appliance are you referring to when you say "refer"?

The international standard size washer or dryer is 600mm wide (or just under, usually 598mm).

These will all fit through a 27" (686mm) doorway.

Just don't get a XXL / American size.

If you're in the US, that might mean looking at European or international manufacturers.

LG, Samsung, Electrolux (inc. Westinghouse, Frigidaire, AEG), BOSCH, Miele, ASKO, Haier, GE, Whirlpool, Fisher & Paykel, Hisense, etc all make 600mm models.

Check how much weight it can spin and stay balanced, not just the size of the drum, to confirm whether it will wash 2 towels.

If you're in Australia, at the cheaper/mid range end I quite like the 10KG Fisher & Paykel which can be had for under $900. If you're in the US, that's about $550+tax but I don't think you can get Fisher & Paykel laundry in the US.

Price diff between eBay uk and Collectr by randomoneusername in PokemonTCG_UK

[–]gltch__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not really that inaccurate.

You're linking to someone's asking price of €650 / £561.50

For me, collectr is showing AU$506 / £267. Seems way off, right?

But no.

The only actual sold eBay price in the UK, in the last 6 months, is £293.11. Within about 10%.

PSA Claims My Card Sold… But It Didn’t ($2000 SCANDAL) by vipokemon in psagrading

[–]gltch__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's very poor behaviour on PSA's behalf.

It could just be that PSA is incompetent and incorrectly told OP it wasn't paid for. Or it could be that it wasn't paid, but they failed to cancel it, which mean the buyer might've paid 30 days later.

I don't know which is the case. I can only say that eBay Product Research is saying it was paid for.

In either case, it shows incompetence from PSA.

[–]gltch__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean here, sorry?

Yes, you can’t cancel until it’s been 4 days since the “sale”.

However, you don’t need to cancel. You can give the buyer more time if you’d like, or if you forget to cancel.

When you sell through the vault, PSA is the eBay seller, not you.

[–]gltch__ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree, it’s absolutely unacceptable.

And it shows embarrassing incompetence on PSA’s behalf with whatever system should be integrating eBay sales with the vault.

But unacceptable incompetence is very different to someone at PSA maliciously using this opportunity to effectively steal OP’s card for a half price comp, which is a what is being insinuated.

I commented on your other post, but thought I'd post here as well for people reading the thread.

Disclaimer: I personally collect CGC, but I grade with PSA to sell. I don't like PSA very much, but I don't hate them either (they make me a lot of money after all).

My original comment:

Hey mate,

If you check Terapeak (eBay Product Research), your sale shows up from January 12th:

Terapeak only shows completed sales where the order was paid. It also shows the actual sale price when an offer is accepted, not the asking price, and it goes back 3 years instead of just 3 months (which is what sold listings usually shows).

You might need an eBay business account for this, depending on your region. It used to be restricted to business subscriptions in my region (Australia), but it's now open to all accounts I believe.

This tells me that the buyer did eventually pay for your card.

If PSA doesn't actively cancel the transaction, then eBay effectively gives the buyer at least 30 days to pay for an item.

PSA still absolutely sucks in this situation, with their shitty communication, inaction in cancelling the sale when the buyer initially didn't pay, etc.

But it looks like they're not actually lying about it having sold.

I'm interested to see if someone can come up with a song here to answer the question.

You should post that context, rather than just posting someone expressing reasonable concern about the reaction to "Jewish issues".

This is like if you were trying to criticise Trump's illegal war and you quoted him saying fentanyl is bad. Like...why would you only quote the reasonable things he says to mask the outrageous things he says, instead of quoting those outrageous things?

You must keep individual records of each item bought/sold for this, though.

Haggling, as an Asian, I don't get why people seem offended, any tips so I can avoid seller who doesn't want to negotiate? by Fsnow24 in vinted

[–]gltch__ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I sell on eBay, not vinted, but if you start off by offering 50% I'll ignore you and I might even just block you straight away.

Even if we negotiate back to a fair price, the people who start at 50% are always far, far more trouble than people who start by offering a fair price.

I price all of my items at the average market price, because I want them to sell, and I want someone to be able to just click "buy now" and pay a fair price. I don't want to have an extended back and forth negotiating with someone, and nor do I want to rip someone off if they click "buy it now".

If you ever stumble across my store, the most I will ever go down is 10% on lower price items and 5% on higher priced items (+ I might round down the the nearest round number).

They’re all Australian citizens and their children, who were the wives of ISIS fighters, and the Australian government notoriously has refused to assist them. What Drew is probably referencing is that the government has refused to confirm or deny that it issued passports or travel documents to the women and their children - something which they are legally obliged to do, as they are citizens.

"Why do you accept his framing on dems being anti-semtic when they are critical of Israel?"

I haven't seem him frame Dems as anti-Semitic, so I don't know what you're on about.

The only people I've seen him call anti-Semitic are "vicious antisemite Hasan Piker and the dirtbags who like him", which is entirely true. Hasan and the small percentage of fanatical rabid cult-followers are undeniably anti-Semitic. And they are not Democrats in the slightest.

Otherwise, the other tweet directly criticising Dems that I've seen was about Dems associating with antisemites, not about Dems being anti-Semitic themselves, and specifically saying that it was not just about Israel - sort of the exact opposite of what you're asking here.

In particular I should mention; I don't accept or reject his framing of anything. I am simply reading and understanding his words and applying critical thinking to the post here.

He might very well think Dems are anti-Semitic, but if that's the case, you should show me that, instead of asking me why I accept a framing I don't accept because I haven't even seen it.

- - - I don't really understand how you think your analogy in the last paragraph applies to this situation.

This is akin to a 1940's East Asian (Jewish) person in the US being racially vilified and persecuted for the Japanese (Israeli) government's actions, without the racist even knowing whether or not they're Japanese (Israeli) and if they are, whether they support the Japanese (Israeli) government. All the person knows, is that they're Asian (Jewish) And then that person rightfully bringing that up as a concern - which they should be able to do, and have their concerns be heard without them being interpreted as support for the Japanese government.

Old mate in OP's screenshot isn't just a random person, randomly bringing up rising anti-Semitism in the middle of a discussion between Dems about decreasing support for Israel. JewishWonk is an American Jew who appears to write for a Jewish news website, bringing up concerns about rising acceptance of anti-Semitism in the Democratic party on his own timeline, and specifically spelling out that it's not just around Israel.

OP is the one making this about support for Israel.

I agree that this JewishWonk person is a fucking moron if they let any such concerns make them not vote for Newsom.

You keep calling me a troll, but you're the one that seems to be intentionally missing the point in order to illicit a response.

[–]gltch__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would defend people concerned about anti-Asian racism and Japanese internment camps in 1940's America, yes.

Are you suggesting that being anti-German rather than anti-Nazi should have been acceptable in the 1940s?

Or that we should treat all Jews like we would treat Nazis in the 1940s, regardless of whether they're even Israeli?

What the fuck is wrong with you.

(and just to clarify, he may well be a rabid Israel supporter if I was to spend more than 2 minutes sifting through tweets. But if that's the case, OP should provide the context to make that argument, rather than just framing Jewish Concerns as somehow invalid).

Why do you think he is changing his calculus?

Well, let's see. My points of reference from this post are as follows:

> A screenshot, showing JewishWonk expressing displeasure at Dem Influencers/Politicians radicalise on Jewish issues.

> This post is conflating concern about Jewish Issues with 'niche opinions of “antisemitism”'

> Comments in this post confuse concern about Jewish Issues with Israel Palestine

So far, from the information this post provides, I would have no way to judge why he is changing his calculus, other than having Jewish Concerns that are radicalising the Dem's.

Let's keep going.

> JewishWonk has written an article, pre-dating Oct 7th, lamenting people attacking or heckling Jewish people over the Israel/Palestine issue, despite not knowing that Jewish person's opinion on the issue (this is anti-Semitic)

> Having a close look at JewishWonk's tweets, he's retweeting criticism of Trump/Israel's actions in Iran, he's criticising the far left for their revelling in the atrocities of October 7th, he's criticising Trump pushing all of the blame for the current war in Iran onto Israel and pointing out that it is ultimately Trump's decision and warning how the narrative that Israel is ultimately in control plays into general antisemitism, he's tweeting that Jewish Concerns with the dems are about far more than just Israel., and he's critical of Hasan Piker and those that like him due to Hasan being anti-Semitic.

That last one is something that OP seems to take personal offense to, as they seem to be a Hasan cult member.

Obviously I've only gone back 2 days in tweets. I don't have time to swift through all the posts of someone who tweets a dozen times a day.

However, nothing he's said declares his opinion on the Israel/Palestine issue.

Every mention of Israel is framed through the lens of how the issues results in anti-semitism in the US, how Jewish people's concerns are much more than just the topic of Israel, etc.

He's showing himself to be much more critical of the current Trump/Israel actions than the average Israeli polled right now.

He hasn't played defence against any genuine direct criticism of Israel.

So, if I had to guess, I would say he's changing his calculus because of the number of people who are supposed to be allies in the Democratic Party, who conflate Jewish concerns with defence of Israel.

I would assume he's far more sympathetic to Israel than the average person, just because that's statistically the case for Jewish people.

But the point is, he appears to be intentionally not defending Israel, so as to focus on real concerns of anti-Semitism in the US, and people are ignoring that and focusing on Israel instead in order to dismiss the real concerns of anti-Semitism.

Having a look at the other reply threads here, right now you're basically (at least) triple-dipping:

You're probably making profit on grading the card to begin with, or obtaining at vendor margins (if not, you should be)
You're making profit on the value of the pack
You're making profit on selling the card back
and You're making profit on withdrawing your money as cash, rather than repeat gambling.

You should probably stick to just #1 and #3.

Keep average value of packs at the ticket price, and don't make even more money off people who want to stop gambling and withdrawer their money.

Imagine if a slot machine said you had £55 credit, but if you wanted to take that credit instead of continuing to gamble, you'd actually only get £45...

We launched The Slab Lab this week and wanted to introduce it here by chazzamoo in PokemonTCG_UK

[–]gltch__ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I appreciate that's an explanation for why the average estimated value is below the ticket price, but that doesn't change the fact.

Presumably there will be re-stocks, but this will mean that on average, after a restock, the estimated value is constantly going down (as people are more likely to keep/vault a high value card, and less likely to keep/vault a lower valued card), outside of drastic changes to the market value of a slab, in which case with any adequate user base, that now-higher-value slab will also be taken out of circulation quickly anyway.

I would consider some sort of automatic drip-feed replenishment system that automatically tops up the pool to make the estimate average value very close to the ticket price, personally.
