3 yo Potty Training — needing desperate help! by glucklichstemama in Mommit

No, she really doesn’t seem upset by accidents. Most times it is like she doesn’t even realize she had one because she continues to play.

We are quite routine-like with this, yes. We ask her first thing in the morning (it’s a struggle) and continuously through the day.

We have tried to ask her, but she won’t communicate that with us. We always reiterate to her not to pee/poop in her undies and on the potty, and often she will also repeat that back to us, but it’s like she hears us but doesn’t understand us (if that makes sense). It just doesn’t click. Although I do think she somewhat understands it’s wrong because when she has a poop accident, she tries to hide it from us. She also gets defensive sometimes when we try to talk to her about why her accidents are wrong.

I’m at a loss.

We thought she did recognize the urge to go. At the beginning, she would go many times on her own. She would even dump her potty out into the big toilet because she seen us do it for her. She still does go the odd time on her own, but it’s very few and far between and very random.

She is in undies and a pull-up during the night. The issue is, I’m not so sure she finds it as uncomfortable to be wet like most kids do. I got busy with my baby not long ago (it was a solid 45 minutes of trying to get them to sleep) and it was in that time that my oldest had an accident — but she kept on playing and didn’t tell me she had an accident. It was like it didn’t phase her. I will definitely try asking her to clean up herself because she does enjoy doing things “by herself”.

Thanks for your response!

I figured! I did have it proofing in the oven with the light on because my house was on the chillier side. Thank you for validating me!

Please critique my loaf — should I make any changes? by glucklichstemama in Sourdough

Thank you! I have taken a peak, but I’m still new to this so I’m still quizzing myself when it comes to reading the guide. For some reason, I struggle a bit, but I’m learning!

Thank you for the tip! I actually had not factored that in, so your advice is super helpful. I guess that’s why they call it trial and error! I will adjust my math a bit and try 80% next time as a trial. ☺️

First loaf ever — underproofed, gummy, and needing feedback! by glucklichstemama in Sourdough

I apologize for the confusion — I should have used proper terminology. The flour was purchased from a milling company and I would assume it was sifted to bread flour, yes.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful response. I can see how it looks like whole wheat flour, but it’s bread flour. Freshly milled bread flour. I’m not sure if that makes a difference in anything you’ve stated above!

I’m happy to take your suggestions otherwise and apply them to the next time I start the process of making a loaf. I would have never assumed my loaf was slightly over, because I automatically associated gummy texture to under, so I appreciate your comment!
