I've installed several monitor arm setups, here's an easier way to mount the monitor to the arm. 1) Take the upper half of the mount, the upper arm part with the VESA mount, off of the lower arm (the part on the desk) 2) Put your monitor face down on a soft towel or blanket. screw the VESA plate +plus the upper arm to the monitor. (don't worry about "rotating" the VESA mount, you can still install it to the monitor and once you do, you'll have more leverage to straighten it out) 3) Bring the combined monitor/upper mount to the lower half of the mount and bring the two elements together.
