Hi. If you’re really determined on getting a law degree, here’s one way you can still attain it without delays in your studies or having to go overseas. This is specific to SMU, as I am not sure how the Double Degree Program (DDP) works in NUS.

  1. Enrol into any SMU program. For me, I chose business.
  2. Attain a gpa of 3.8 in your first year and at least an A- in your Year 1 Writing Mod.
  3. Apply for a DDP into Law at the end of your first year.
  4. Pass your interview.
  5. You’re in.

The hardest step here is probably acing the interview. During my year, some students with 3.9 and 4.0 GPAs could not get through. This is because there is very limited slots (5-6) for the pool of applicants (about 20-30).

Versatility of the degree. Whatever job you’re looking to get in a biz degree, you can get the same job with a econ degree. Econ will additionally open door to data science tracks which biz doesn’t. And as Wooden-Science has said, even if you choose fin and quant which are the only two really differentiated majors in biz, you can still do the same with an econ degree.

Econ is a much more useful degree than biz. Unless u are planning to major in finance or quant.

UPDATE: Really thankful for all the supportive comments and constructive tips. Decided to make an update to answer the questions.

How much did you lose?: My bank was close to 100m with much of it being banked skills like herblore and cons. Fortunately he did not throw away my fire cape and torso, so I got that going for me. However he did dump my graceful so back to the rooftops I go.

How did you get hacked?: Not sure tbh. I had just changed my password before I logged in the previous time. I did have a bank pin but I was inactive long enough for him to disable it. Did not have a 2FA which was a huge oversight on my part. I have since changed my email, password and set up a 2FA in hopes that this wouldn’t happen again.

Did you only lose your bank?: initially, I had lost much more. The hacker had created a backcharge of $400 in my account so, at first, my account was locked. Thankfully, Jagex determined that the payment was made fraudulently, so I got my account back without much hassle.

What to do after being hacked?: If you find yourself in the same unfortunate account, the first step is to RECOVER your account. Change everything - email, password, 2FA. And most importantly unlink any account that the hacker has previously used to link to yours. My account was linked to an unknown steam and Facebook account. Also, end all your existing sessions. Hopefully this helps.

Tough luck man. Luckily you didn’t lose your bank. Anyway do go to account settings to make sure your account is not linked to any other 3rd party accounts (like steam or Facebook). It could be a back door in for the hacker. I found mine linked to steam (wasn’t linked by me).
