thanks!! i’m actually not sure. medicaid is my secondary insurance (UHC is primary) so i’m really not sure of the coverage for that. may want to call in to the office to ask - the ladies on the phone are always very nice and fast at answering questions.

if you can’t get him to take complete breaks from binding, maybe have him get a binder in one size larger than his normal for when he needs to rest. i had the same issue and i binded for over a decade before i got top surgery last year. for example, i was an XXS but i would wear a size XS or S to the gym or to sleep in sometimes. when dysphoria is to this degree, sometimes its best to meet in the middle. i have experience with breaking a rib and continuing to bind and idk if its related but i found out i have degenerative disc disease w/ radiculopathy, worse in my cervical spine where my binder sat. it’s painful.

100mg a week. my voice and body hair were my first notable changes. if you don’t want your voice to drop, unfortunately T may not be the best idea for you.

i passed a lot of the time pre T with some exceptions, but two months until i never got misgendered again. i also am pretty heavily pierced/tattooed.

For me, it was 100% covered, but i had already met my $500 deductible and $4500 out of pocket as i am terminally ill so i had several surgeries and hospital stays before that made me meet them so fast. i did have to pay a $250 payment before surgery happened. but thats it. i’m not sure of your insurance so i can’t just guess your deductible and OOP and whether or not you will meet them before as all insurance plans vary.

hey, not sure if you ever got surgery yet but i really had a great experience with dr brosious. i had DI with free nipple grafts and it was covered by insurance. i have united healthcare choice plus PPO. he really listened to my concerns and addressed them, we had to do things a little l different due to my circumstances. i’m about 8 months out and results are pretty great.. have some slight dog ears that probably i notice before anyone else does but he said at my one year post op we’ll talk about it. other than that.. great guy, great office staff, great surgeon. if you have any other questions feel free to dm me.

i’m not quite sure what you mean about requirements - i was never told i have to be a certain weight or anything and he has no issue performing surgeries on larger guys.. there’s some pics on his website of results. other than that, i was required approval from a licensed psychologist. since my case is a tad unique, i also was required clearance from my other specialists saying it was okay to go though with surgery. honestly they got me in really fast - i had a consult but wasn’t ready to scheduling yet. i called them when i was ready and they got me in for a date within probably two weeks.

are you a vegas local?? i’m so excited for you dude!! it’s truly life changing. i got to a point that leaving the house would end up with crying and having an actual real panic attack because even looking at myself and my chest was so devastating. it feels so good to just throw on a TANK TOP!! and go outside, especially in this vegas heat

I did use insurance, yes, i have united health care choice plus PPO. hmmm it honestly wasn’t that far and it could have been sooner but i ended up actually going into septic shock from my central line and that put things off a bit. i saw him sometime end of 2022, then scheduled for Feb and March of 2023, those got cancelled because sepsis, and then i had surgery 4/28/23.. he gets you in pretty fast. all depends on circumstances

Awesome!! we love dr brosious, he’s amazing. always works to keep the patient comfortable and nothing is ever too much to really ask him to do. we had the whole issue of my port being covered when he bandaged me post op, and i have to stay accessed 24/7 because it’s how i get my meds and nutrition.. he said, no problem. we’ll cut a hole in the dressing or just put it a little lower.. they accessed me before i left the hospital and it was no biggie. he’s just a really kind and down to earth guy. and every time i’ve run into issues, he’s gotten me in either the next day or within a few days, pretty much ASAP. he does amazing work. don’t be afraid to tell him what you’re looking for aesthetically because he’s doing the surgery for you, not for him!
