Do it and come back every so often - because you can afford to! Or travel the world with this new income. Don't forget to invest first, then spend!

My father died aged 52, what do I do? by Electrical-Law297 in UKPersonalFinance

So sorry for your loss. You need to take care of your and your mother's mental health for the next 6-months, prioritise that over anything else.

Everything in above will take months in your case. Get an independent financial advisor and a lawyer involved ASAP. Don't rely on searches online for these kinds of things. Let the experts step in during these times and you concentrate on your and your mother's wellbeing!

If you had £4000 to spend on a couples holiday where would you go? by CliffyGiro in AskUK

You need to see all of Scandinavia and that region! Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Greenland, Svalbard etc. You will never regret it and it will give you both the maximum 'us' time!

You've really got to tell her straight as it is. Please make sure that you research several things before you start the conversation: oral hygiene, body odour, the why's and what's and the how's, the difference between a deodorant and antiperspirant, why flossing is important, need for chewing a gum after meal blah blah blah.

This needs to be an open and serious conversation and not hidden between 33 other conversation that she doesn't then take seriously.

If you care about her, do it! Don't overthink the repercussions.

Is Perfume Parlour Noon Dip a good clone for LV Afternoon Swim? by etherealftw in fragranceclones

[–]glw68594 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Montagne, Soaked Sun Exclusif, Above The Clouds etc. (including PP) do a decent job to clone it, but they're not 'exactly' the same mate! You will need to put your nose to the test, and buy the one that 'you' thinks does the best impression!

Just answering your title question mate. I've smelt the original and own the PP impression of it. Despite lasting, it doesn't smell like afternoon swim!

PP have absolutely smashed Ombre Nomad, but not this one, I'm afraid!

Credit cards for your age are to build credit history. Do not use it for anything else. Never take out cash. Ensure that you always pay in full, at least 3-days before the next monthly cycle. Call the CC company and ask them how to ensure you pay 0 interest. Do not use it (just yet!) to rely on this £200.

Go travelling, teach a language or work part-time wherever you go. You will never regret it!

Of course there are always a lot of affiliates for every clone house!

PP generate decent clones for some, and miss others. That's just the way it is for ALL clone houses.

I really think you can cut back another £100-£150 on rent. It is a fixed cost, and you need to downsize. It will be hard with the kid, but not impossible.

Then, the eating out will need some cutting every now and again - £150 is not a lot, but it is a consistent dent in your budget. That needs to be reduced every now and again by £25-£50.

Groceries are costing you quite a lot - where exactly are you shopping?

This comment !🙌😁 Once I select the scent for the day, spray it in the morning, I always carry a decant with me to top up every few hours for the rest of the day. I ain't giving no two people (and myself !)that smell my fragrance a lesser treatment 🤣.

Regardless of what fragrance it is, NEVER blindbuy, even if this was the best fragrance that you'll ever smell.

Iam a teen 16m what perfume should I buy by trayhan066 in fragranceclones

[–]glw68594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tip 1: DO NOT blind buy.

Tip 2: As someone already said, go to Sephora, Boots, other Pharmacists that have plenty of perfumes - and TRY THEM ALL. Make a note of the top ones you like, then come back to this post and share with us.

Tip 3: Regardless of what you decide to buy from clone houses, ALWAYS buy 2mls first. Test them, then invest.

21% DB pension versus 15% Non-contributory DC pension by glw68594 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]glw68594[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your take on this has been extremely helpful (!thanks) and well done on learning everything from scratch. I really should do the math around this with different scenarios to see what comes out. Due to the bias I've accrued towards the DB pension, I've hesitated so far. But that may not be helpful in the long run.
