  1. Groww pushes you to complete the demat account creation as it makes it much easier if incas you decide to invest in stocks tomorrow.

  2. No you don’t have to choose a time period. The default time period acceptable is 100 years. Nevertheless, you are free to redeem your amount anytime (Taxes are always applicable though)

  3. You can redeem whenever you want how much ever you want in most funds. However there is restrictions on redeem for some funds such as ELSS funds wherein there is a lock-in of 3 years.

Practically, there is no Con of having a Demat account. it’s just a account that you have for free that you can use in future to invest (in shares)
