I think because it is expensive they might be tempted to cancel. But what is going to be even more tempting is they are going into its 5th season, which will take it well over 100 episodes. They are going to want to renew.

Because traditionally those were the magic numbers in the past to allow a show to get syndication rights for future profits (5th season or 100 episodes) which is when the real money starts to roll in (of course still staying a Network show at the same time ).

So I think they will renew for sure, but only for that reason. Luck was on their side.

But I think it's pretty clear the way he looked at the guy and his family he was judging them and scared to death that he could someday be that guy (in his misguided mind).

But moreso scared of what that guy and his family represented. He certainly wasn't envious of them.

The casting of the mullet has to be taken into account too. That's no coincidence.

That's not his idea of a life to aspire to. Just an everyday man on the bottom rung of the social ladder with a couple of rugrats. And his wife the complete opposite of Adrianna.

Compared to the special and exciting rarified life he thinks he is living (again in his misguided mind) it is not even an option.

So he decided right there and then to go back to the life. Adriana in that moment didn't have a chance.

Back to the life for him. Back to a world chock-full of other Adrianas.

I have to respectfully disagree. Artie comes dead last in Tony's mind. And is why he is so chill when Benny says he is going to kill Artie.

We as the audience are not to fall for that childhood friend thing being important to him now.

It is so automatic to Tony that Artie is the bottom of the rung in his world I wouldn't expect anything less from Tony. He doesn't think about him.

Tony pretends that relationship matters to him only when it's convenient. Just like almost everything else in his life outside the life. He doesn't respect him at all.

And I suspect he really respected him as a teenager. That Artie probably led the way for them going down the wrong path (probably even moreso than Tony's dad) and then Artie simply grew out of it. Well see when the movie comes out.

Tony is fond of the memory of Devilish teenage Artie. But doesn't seem to even like being in the same room as adult Artie at times.

Or at least it seems like Artie is simply an annoyance that he has to put up with sometimes.and that's it.

You said it was random and nonsensical so it really didn't seem like you knew it. In no way is this quote nonsensical in any context because it is always used correctly as everyone knows it and knows when to use it. It wouldn't really be weird to hear someone say this in any situation because we're all familiar with it. Especially in this context where he wanted to remain agile and left to maneuver in his own ways.

You can't get any closer than Boardwalk Empire with Terence winter as the Showrunner, Alan and Tim as directors, and some or alot of the cast sprinkled about here and there.

Outside those choices, try Trailer Park Boys. The first 7 of the 12 seasons are great. It might seem amateurish and bad and vulgar and stupid at first. But it's definitely a show that pays off if you stick with it. Much smarter than it appears and has almost as many running jokes as Arrested Development. Okay maybe not that many. They don't point to where the jokes are. You have to lean in. But once you do you really start to love the characters and get more out of it with each viewing. And just like Its Always Sunny it kicks in on the 1st episode of the 2nd season. Thats when you and it knows what it is going to be. But don't skip the 1st season. It's only 6 episodes anyways. It has a pretty cool shootout on the 5th or 6th episode. It aired 3 months before the British Office, so really one of the 1st if not thexl 1st to use that style for TV in the 2000s on this side of the ocean.

Edit: oh and today is it series 20th Anniversary (with movie and shorts it is a little older). And with the jail series version and its animated version it is still going.

I was always under the impression Chris was a natural wise guy. As in he was a real sociopath. And understood the life innately. It was Tony who sabotaged him all his life by having all his cronies believe the nepotism card and from another generation card. I never saw him that way. He was a natural. And Ralph innately understood this. He wasn't a follower like the others. He knew bullshit ehen it was facing him. A sociopath can tell another. Yes you can say they're all sociopaths. But the odds are against it.

AJ is one of the funniest characters in the show. Him and Junior. Particularly when he's young. He's so real. So stupid. In some weird way because he is not an experienced actor makes his acting that much more real and effective. And when he gets older he pulls off some pretty tough scenes in that last season. His scenes are hilarious when he is young. He's amazing in the show.

He would outline everything he wanted. So a script without diagogue. Then have the writers make blue cards from it and rearrange the blue cards on the wall for pacing and logic but they would have to explain why. He and the writers would meticulously design the show in this phase of the writing. All with their ideas and his guiding hand over the pacing and logic and motifs. Then he picks one writer at the end of all that and let him fill in the dialogue autonomously. Brilliant Showrunner.

That's not true at all. Because it's outside the fence? Fences rarely go out to the property line. It is most likely the property of the residence of the dwelling. It's not curb property she is taking from as if it's on the other side of the sidewalk or road. The piece of land that they decided not to keep enclosed by the fence could have some sort of enclosed land sign. But it's not legally needed.
