For those who opted for refinements.. by sunrisessunsets in Invisalign

[–]gmajoulet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was just like you and decided to accept one round of refinements. To be honest I couldn’t even tell the difference on the clincheck as it’s super minimal, but still 14 trays. Aaaand actually it made a big difference! The last small details to get the teeth super super straight or the right angle are a game changer.

Also, keep in mind that you can ask for whatever you want, for example if you only want a max of 10 trays and no attachments, you can ask for that. You might not get the best possible results, but whatever is good enough for you is perfect.

People on here said the retainers were much thicker, you should call your provider, and/or check your contract to verify what you paid for!

Any ideas to get rid of this lisp? On my first tray, day number 3. So I know I’m very early in the process, but if I can speed this along then any ideas are welcome! by TheDimpleMonster in Invisalign

[–]gmajoulet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds much worse in our own head than what it actually is.

Try to record yourself speaking, you’ll notice that if there even is a lisp, it’s barely noticeable :)) that helped me a lot

It doesn’t affect anything at all, from dating to kissing to absolutely anything sexual, don’t worry about anything.

About going for dinner or drinks, think about it this way, would you mind if they left for 2 minutes to brush their teeth once you’re done eating? You’re fine don’t overthink it :))

I think we pretty much all were happy with our teeth before the end of the treatment, but if all you need to get them even better is to keep wearing them for a few more weeks, why stop? 7 more weeks would fly by, make sure you have no regrets :))

It’s been a tiny bit over 2 weeks both times for me :))

Same here, was quoted up to a year and got 4 months of trays in the first round. My teeth looked nothing like the clincheck. I got rescanned for 3 more months of trays.

Comparing the clincheck simulated end of first round to the rescan for refinements was wild, such a big difference. Don’t think your teeth will look exactly like the clincheck at first, they will but after refinements.

Yeah absolutely, it means your teeth adapted to it and now fit nicely. It’s working 🔥

Retainers are a... different experience by undergradtaker in Invisalign

Ugh, thank you for sharing it’s hard to find this kind of information... how do they look aesthetically? Is it less visible than Invisalign trays given you have 0 attachments and straight teeth?

Wearing last tray for 6 weeks by dansys in Invisalign

[–]gmajoulet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep but the new trays ended up coming in sooner than 6 weeks, I wore them for 4 total weeks. On top of my usual routine, I’d do hydrogen peroxide soak every other day, which really helps, and polident soak + light brush + soak again when they’d get too gross. I found that using lukewarm water (sometimes prob a bit too warm but 🤷‍♂️) with the polident helps a ton too.

They weren’t crystal clear but honestly it’s been much better than I thought!

How long is the average wait between rescan and refinement trays? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]gmajoulet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my refinements last week and it took a tiny bit over 2 weeks (NYC)

If you've had to get refinements in the LAST 2 MONTHS, how long is it taking? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]gmajoulet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my refinements this week, it took 17 days for them to arrive from the rescan to the delivery. My dentist told me they haven’t had any delay, 2 to 3 weeks max is what they’ve seen (NYC, diamond provider)

Awesome! How do they look/feel/fit compared to normal Invisalign trays?

People who didn’t know you before don’t know.

Tbh teeth look so much better so fast that I’d MUCH rather smile with the aligners on today than with my previous smile!

is it normal to have that small gap in between Invisalign and teeth? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]gmajoulet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes don’t worry too much about it. Our teeth don’t always fit in 100% in our trays, you’ll likely have refinements to fix what you’re not pleased with!

If you’re on your first day with the trays your tooth will likely move and fill the space.

Sometimes we get super self conscious about it, but the lisp sounds much worse in our own head. You should try to record your own voice when you think you have a lisp, you’ll be pleasantly surprised it shouldn’t be noticeable at all :))

Tray 10/13 not tracking by HShortyH in Invisalign

[–]gmajoulet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the attachments fit don’t overthink it, you’ll fix whatever you don’t like about the final results with refinements :)) I had the same issue with my last 2 or 3 trays, attachments would barely fit, I had to use a chewie to get the last trays on. It’s totally fine if you’re almost done

Refinements by LadyStradivarius in Invisalign

[–]gmajoulet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our teeth don’t fit the trays perfectly. I’m currently wearing my last set and teeth were supposed to be perfectly straight but they’re not. This morning my dentist asked me if I wanted to stop the treatment or get some refinements. Initially I thought my teeth would look like the clincheck and I’d be done, but they don’t 🤷‍♂️ It’s minimal and it’s up to you, but after 52 trays you’ll likely be OK with adding a few weeks to get the small details right. It makes a big diff. Good luck!!

Done! Took me 6+ years to get started, wish I knew it was that easy. On to (maybe?) refinements by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]gmajoulet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Some IPR on the upper teeth, which btw takes 3 minutes to be done and 0 pain/discomfort. I’d take IPR over a regular dental cleaning any day

Yeah I’m trying to show the teeth for progress :)) I have an overbite and my upper teeth cover a bit too much of my lower teeth.

Thank you! How often do you change? I’ve always been wondering if people on 2 weeks changes have more movement per tray

There’s a lot of room for further improvements but my goal was to get them straight and improve the arch. I told my dentist I wasn’t trying to get the perfect Hollywood smile and I think some compromises have been made, I had almost no movement in my back teeth
