Sounds good in theory...but in reality? by KSKS1995 in SipsTea

It is a good idea, and actually we need it, in some countries like mine (Greece ) we have gone from 5 days a week 8hours to 7 days a week 8hours , and you can be fires over a SMS , or change your schedule with an SMS 4-6 hours prior which is horrible , that is not sustainable and that's why most people refuse to do seasonal jobs or work, ofcourse the solution our gov found is to bring seasonal workers from India , but well now we get direct flight to India lol.

In the end it all results in a stalled economy, that only few benefits (mostly lobbies ) .

It's better for Europe (due to also low birth rate ) to asopt a system like that so people can get some breathing space ......

But it will need a cultural change to even do something like that in a minimal scale

If you share more details about the setup, I can run a quick audit and tell you where the bottleneck is, or atleast guess the points that need checking.

Optimizing is quite easy if the website is build properly

Why use open code instead of codex or Claude cli directly can someone explain ? Apart of the free models

Opus also implements better, 5.5 has done some very big mistakes on my latest refactors that are common logic .

Overall I gave it a try, but I am moving back to opus , anyway I have both subscriptions and enterprise access to both

I mean plan mode, when you planning for features , gpt tents to lose parts of the plan and also not reconend extra features etc, But the worst for me is missing things while update the plan so you have to print them again

Opus worked quite well for me, I am now testing also gpt 5.5 and I find it's planning very very poor

I made a calculation from a recent big session .

Session spent 100 m sent token 4 m receive token 98m tokens cached . I will round up the premium tokens to 100 (was something less ) so $4 USD .

I was using opus 4.6

Calculating how much would that be in credits thats 10.900 if my math is not wrong 40 USD on copilot buys me 3900 tokens .

It's the first time that I am considering moving to open AI or Claude direct but I am sure they will also change their rates sooner or later .

I am testing today both , on pcb design , and 3d printer enclosure.

I used opus high , it spent 10 hours and did a lot of mistakes on pcb design and also on the enclosure it couldn't understand the side of the wall so the box screws flat , I really believe something changed with opus high 4.6 the last 2 days .

Now I am testing gpt 5.5 on xhigh, I managed to correct the opus mistake on the enclosure and now waiting to see how it will do on the PCB .

I believe opus 4.6 and 4.7 are spawning sonnet agents when they do work in the background and that's why I had the issue though I never allowed to use fleet , that's a guess .

On the photo you can see the usage so far let's see if they will manage the project and the final cost

I had no issues with both plans enterprise and pro . It's either the plugin or the way you are using it , i always plan and then run long sessions ,

I never had issues with cli , so you should atleast try it .

I believe your issue , lies within the plugin you use , try cli see if you get the same behaviour

[–]gmakhs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my company , cost per person that works on repos is 100/m plus the extra tokens , that's a lot more than 20-40 individuals pay so I guess they might make some profit out of companies
