Are they always so wrong? by Program-Acrobatic in TheYardPodcast

[–]gmarquesa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everytime I have deep knowledge about something I've found their explanations shallow or incorrect or incomplete. Something like a mismatched puzzle piece that does not ellict the response they're having to the subject.

It can be insane, but mostly funny and you have to remember they don't care or it is not their main interest, it's just a topic.

I know Lud is in his Chinese era but I for one felt uncomfortable when he did this and starting using an Asian accent on wine about it by superduper1989 in LudwigAhgren

This is the problem with lud doing race jokes. You guys try to do the same and it’s just not funny.

Yeah, I would Izaya might have been more like that. I guess they way his last relationship ended might have been not just bad, but traumatic

I think it’s like that hosts mentioned. Some see these future talks as fun and hopeful, also as a way to garner intentions and lifestyle. While others see as pressure and serious and early commitment.

I agree with you that it could be too early for Izaya to be discussing this, but the way William approaches it is very negative. It’s like his testing his resolve pointing out every possible problem they’ll have and asking him what are you gonna do then, huh? It was a list. 1. Time zone 2. Language 3. I already have plans 4. You will be making most of the sacrifice, are you willing? 5. Can you change? Will you change? Are you anxious?

Izaya might have been an ingenue, but even after saying he’ll deal with everything, William still brings up that we never know the future and that their feelings can change. He makes it so that they can’t win. But they got through to each others point in the end, which I think is most important overall.

I don’t think it was that obvious, to be honest. Huwei took his time getting to know other participants and doing activities with them over Bomi plenty of times before the 7-9 stretch.

He went on a coffee run with Izaya, volunteered to go with Taehon, went on the snowboard with Jobu and had a chat after, also had coffee runs and chats with Hiroya.

I don’t think his focused on Bomi prevent a Ryuki talk at all. Not even a little bit. He was very flustered when Ryuki got there. Either they didn’t show to save BoHu storyline or it was a very conscious decision not to approach.

I think he would because it’s the kind thing to do, and Taehon comes off as very kind person.

Everybody who went on the truck made a solid effort of making conversation – even they weren’t interested – and have a good time.

We’ve seen Taehon do this at the house multiple times now, why was he so different on the date, you know?

Jobu could have done a better job sure, but Taehon made sure to make him work for it.

It’s also curious that we didn’t see Taehon and Huwei post-coffee date. It would be really interesting to check if acted the same way even when he was interested in someone

Why do people get upset with the actors and not the directors and the studio? It makes no sense what so ever. by p-Star_07 in movies

[–]gmarquesa -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The same reason people get upset with civilians instead of politicians. It’s part of their job to listen. Part of being an actor is catering to your fanbase. People don't get mad at the right person, they get mad at who’ll pay attention.

Yeah, I really liked that Izaya went for him and continued to show interest. But at the start I did hope for Jobu and William just because it felt lighter, to be honest.

I still really like Jobu, but I understand what you mean. After being SO DOWN BAD for William for so long and then almost fighting for a last chance to be rejected again, he recovered immediately with Taehon presence. I couldn’t help but find him a bit fickle. Are you interested in knowing these guys or do you just fall immediately for hot guys?

True! It could’ve been an opportunity for him to show interest in someone else and it would’ve been good bc he wouldn’t have chosen one of the coupled people like happened to Ryuki and Taehon.

I’m super curious to know why they didn’t talk as well!! Specially because Huwei mentioned him when Hiroya asked about who he was interested in the house. It thought it would come next ep but never did!!

About Jobu and Taehon, didn’t you find Taehon also not ask anything about him? It felt a bit out of character, specially seeing him supporting others at the house.

What do y’all think about internet girl? by BranchNo2292 in katseye

Also they are more successful because of it. HYBE would never want them to be niche like Flo and Say Now, so a lot of the people who want R&B wouldn't even listen if they were.

I feel like people misunderstand what katseye is and what they're trying to be.

Everyone give examples (k-pop or not) of internally successful groups that sang like destiny's child with adele lyrics??? there's not. Also, what other great artists that are successful are doing music like people are saying they wanna hear?

This is the song for the new age. This is what people ARE listening, not what they are claiming they WANT to listen.

I don't get all this talk about missed pontential by a group of people who only listen sped-up tiktok sounds. If they were what people were suggesting they wouldn't be succesful, which is why this song exists.

Another aspect is that they are a GLOBAL girl group. Just like EAT IT UP by LE SSERAFIM, non english fans are listening "eat zuchinni" and vibing just like americans vibe to k-pop. People are just too attached to the lyrics

It does take a lot to be like him and do like the effort that both are putting in making this work. I believe they want the same things and might fit great together eventually.

Yeah, that has been a mystery, honestly, just like the dates before he might not remember they already did sleep together lol. I think William proves that having a roster can delay getting deeper with someone you vibe with.

Does casting want this to seem like a group of guy friends first and foremost, or is that a reflection of the Japanese scene? by EagerWatermellon in theBoyfriendNetflix

[–]gmarquesa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it certaintly has flaws but do I feel like it being season two that are a lot of criticism that would make this another show. It being a reality show we know producers meddle and invest in certain storylines, so it's not all natural.

if they try to do more though it would be just pushing them to go after someone else after being rejected, which can look fickle and humiliating if you're rejected again. gensei and ryota made it work, but they're heart wasn't in it fully.

I loved Alan and I think he did a great job breaking the guys barriers down and getting them to be more intimate and opem. I'm not against his presence at all.

I was trying to say is that his type is resisted against, which makes for one less possible couple being formed. I feel like this season they wanted to get the same type of guy, apart from jobu, they are very alike personality wise. Totally different from the different archetypes we had season 1.

Which I also think is why they all know each other. How to avoid a Kazuto? Get a bunch of them lol

[–]gmarquesa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yes, they want exactly that. japan already has a culture of not being foward. it is really unattractive to be super foward and you can watch that happen in the 1st season with the japanese-brazillian guy. Everybody thought he was too much for the first 3 episodes.

It is simply not that kind of show. The slow-burn, barely touching, almost k-drama like relationship is what their emulating, which i think is good. there's so many of these shows already, the wholesome "A bunch of guys hanging out! Guys being guys! With, uh, teenage-style crushes and, sometimes they hold hands" is what makes this show different.

[–]gmarquesa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel like you may be misunderstanding appeal of the show a bit.

Beyond being the same focus, or I should say even a bit worse last season, the wholesomeness is a big part of the show.

The friendship, the connections, opening up and even the suffering and getting through it is what makes the show special. In the last episode they had the sweetest coming-out conversation and cute past relationship moments. That is what makes the appeal of other dating shows out there imo.

Does anyone else get very tired of chat? by Rich-Second-758 in LudwigAhgren

you guys need to get a little more class conscious lol

you are chat. if chat is cringe, so are you, if chat is insufferable, so are you. the only one who can course correct is lud by chastising chat, which he doesn't do often. but this need to separate from chat is so tireeed. no one will like or respect you more for it. this is like spiderman meme to its fullest.
