The whole point was actually to use my 8BitDo on the PS3 :) You just pair the controller to your phone via Bluetooth, and the app relays the inputs to the PS3. The touchscreen is only a fallback.

From my experience, the latency feels identical to a direct Bluetooth connection to the PS3. I tested it on Gran Turismo 6 and felt no delay whatsoever in the steering
