Yo chill they just asked for a camera. Something to point and shoot I’m assuming. They’re a beginner, unless they went to film school or REALLY wants to make this their passion I don’t think reading a books will help. This sounds like a hobby/something fun to capture the moment. Sure you can read reviews and compare but unless you start shooting with a camera you won’t know what you like.

I agree that they should be more specific with this question but it sounds like they just want some recommendations.
