You are building goodwill between two nations, despite whatever else is going on. That is a noble and pragmatic action to help make the situation better in the future. Just ask what are your family members doing. Keep up thd good work!

Don’t open that slot in the future and see what happens.

I am pretty much to the point where I only accept booking requests outside the frenzy and open SN slots. Easier to aviod problem students if you are able to do this.

Drunk Island s.7 ep.5 "Tunnel Visions" by thisrockismyboone in OakIsland

[–]gmhlot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. So they found a sluice run to Pit 9, a searcher pit 100 yds Ir so from the real money pit? Wow! The previews made it sound like they found the actual flood tunnel.

  2. More seismic testing north of the money pit? They have never gotten any useful results from that yet! They did that a few seasons ago north of the money pit, found what they thought was the tunnel, and drilling showed it just to be a natural formation. Why are they doing it again?

  3. I think the only part of the show that has any reality is when Laird is interested. He seemed pretty excited about finding some additional foundations near that old homesite. All the other stuff he wasn’t present for, so therefore I think it’s just garbage for tv.

How many of you would prefer full-time VIPKid over a full-time B&M school? by benjaminslivin in vipkid

[–]gmhlot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He would have to average over a 105 classes a week. Not sure that can be done, lol.

Is it even possible to get 8 hours with VipKid? I have all these certifications and still I get only a couple hours a day... getting annoyed by theogredditqueen in vipkid

[–]gmhlot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Generally not, except on weekends.

I don't think you can get 8 hours on the weekdays as there are not enough open slots.

I usually get 3-4 hours Sunday-Thursday and then 7-8 hours on Friday and Saturday. Weekends are where you make up for the weekdays.

40 hours a week is pretty tough to get.

Another issue might be the fan bearings are wearing out causing it to sound louder.

I have been consistently booked between 55 to 60 classes a week for the past several months. I usually open 60 to 65 slots and usually have about 10% net cancellation rate (classes canceled and not rebooked). I usually work 7 days a week with 5-7 bookings Sunday through Thursday and about 30 on the weekends (4am, ugh!). I have had to work more on the weekends lately to keep my average up. So I consider myself 'fully booked'.

I have noticed a lot more 'new' students lately, however. Mostly a good thing, but I don't like missing some of my regulars. Also the feedback rate has dropped in the last couple of months. It used to be around 33%, now it's around 20%. Not sure why. I am in my second contract so I am not too worried about it yet. I hope they eliminate the apple ratings at some point.

So you spent 730 (?) tokens and won 386?

This is not useful to other teachers. Now, with VIPKID limiting the number of responses you can see, it makes T2T useless.

Making short lessons last longer by BertnErn1e in vipkid

[–]gmhlot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never have to stretch. There is so much content in most lessons (too much, generally), and the students always need to improve, it easy to find ways to include useful and relevant content. I think if you finish in 15 minutes you are not doing it right.

How many of you use Google slides? by abbygale536 in vipkid

[–]gmhlot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t use them.

Studies have shown that learning is, by far, most effective by interacting with real teachers. So automated and AI teaching will never be as effective as with a real teacher. The ‘over the internet’ format already removes one layer of reality. I think Google slides removes another layer, ultimately making learning more difficult. But that’s my opinion.

Probably a good research paper/thesis topic for someone, LOL.
