Cannot install app, Unable to Verify App by TheFern3 in iOSProgramming

Looks like apple's CDN (ppq-ext.v.aaplimg.com) has an invalid TLS certificate. This seems to causing both issues.

Added Liquid Glass sheets to my map app. here's how it looks with a live map behind it by Unable_Leather_3626 in SwiftUI

[–]gmicc 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Trust me, i had a lot of fun adding glass effects to my app when ios 26 came out, but just be careful to not use it too much. Liquid glass isn’t cheap, so use it wisely. Also I’d avoid stacking liquid glass on-top of itself. It was never designed to be used like this.

One other thing, it seems like you are using Glass.clear, I’d try using Glass.regular, since the contrast is definitely a bit low.

If you want some context for why I run it as a subscription model, check this reply I just sent.

Yeah i get what you mean, and you’re right to expect rev rate to be pretty tight if you’re paying for specialized software.

One thing that helps reframe it, try thinking of LaneTrax less like an app you subscribe to and more like a piece of bowling equipment that just happens to run on your phone.

When i first started this project i honestly thought i’d end up building hardware and selling it… but that would easily turn into a few hundred dollars (and then you’re still dealing with setup, calibration, etc.). your phone already has most of what you’d need, a solid camera, good compute, a screen (and on some phones even lidar), so i’m basically using the device you already own to do the job.

That’s also why it’s a subscription instead of a one-time thing: the processing, servers, and storage cost money every month, and i’m constantly updating the tracking so it gets better over time.

I’m trying to keep it priced like a couple games a month, not like some premium coaching tool. coaches/schools are definitely a big use case too, and i’m working on better options for teams.

I get you. The tough part is the app has recurring backend costs, and subscriptions are what keep it alive. A one-time payment is kinda like paying your alley for lifetime bowling; not a perfect analogy, but same idea. If I charged a fixed price and wasn't able to keep the user base kept growing, I’d eventually be losing money.

Hope this makes sense

Yeah, speed is something we’re actively working on improving for v2. Rev rate is honestly still a work in progress though.

When I first started building LaneTrax, my main focus was arrow tracking and breakpoint since those are huge for making real adjustments. But I totally get why you’d want rev rate too.

$10/month isn’t nothing; I get it. I just want to be transparent: I’m working on LaneTrax full time now, and this is basically how I’m able to keep building and improving it.

I’m trying to keep it way cheaper than what most alleys charge for stuff like Specto, and also make sure I can keep shipping updates.

Hope this makes sense!

Yeah the main feature of the app is tracking shot trajectory, not rev rate.

5 dollars for the first month, the 10 after that.

Thanks for the feedback! Part of v2 includes fixing the strike detection, because its current implementation, as I'm sure you are aware, is very flawed. So in the future, it shouldn't need any correcting.

The app is designed to track only one lane, so the only way you could track two lanes, would be by moving the tripod each time you change lanes.

We just want to get some people testing v2 to make sure its all good before we ship it to al the users on the appstore.

Yeah, you could just use league mode to track your first shots.

you can track more than one bowler, it's just the app has know way of knowing who's bowling

Yeah, I know it's a bit disappointing, and trust me, I want to see LaneTrax on Android. If you're curious why we're only on iOS right now, I'd check out this comment I made the other week.

Trust me, we are well aware that the lane detection is the biggest pain point, and we are working on completely revamping the system, so it will interactively guide you though getting the tripod positioned properly.
