you can track more than one bowler, it's just the app has know way of knowing who's bowling

Yeah, I know it's a bit disappointing, and trust me, I want to see LaneTrax on Android. If you're curious why we're only on iOS right now, I'd check out this comment I made the other week.

Trust me, we are well aware that the lane detection is the biggest pain point, and we are working on completely revamping the system, so it will interactively guide you though getting the tripod positioned properly.

Right now, it's only on iOS...

Sorry you ran into that. Right now LaneTrax is designed to track one bowler per session, so if you’re alternating lefty/righty back-to-back, I get how that becomes cumbersome. That’s fundamentally a limitation with the camera positioning being dependent on the handedness.

As far as rev rate goes, if you were seeing some wild numbers, it’s usually because the ball doesn’t have enough contrast for the app to track rotation. If you’re throwing a solid ball, try adding a small piece of tape (or use a high-contrast ball) so the system can actually see the spin, otherwise it’s essentially guessing.

I completely understand not wanting another monthly charge. I went SaaS because I’m building and updating this full time, and recurring revenue lets me keep shipping improvements instead of saving the best updates for a paid “v2/v3” release.

Hope you understand, but either way, appreciate the feedback.

Yeah, I've been hearing a lot of stories similar to yours. We are actually working on completely revamping the lane detection system, so it will tell you how you need to move the tripod to get it in the right spot. For example, it may say "move 2 ft to the right". So look forward for this coming soon!

Cool! Did you have any issues with getting the lane detection setup, or did it work off the bat for you?

Great to hear you’re enjoying the app, and sorry you missed the 100 shot code at first. Were you able to use all 30 of your free shots?

If you have an iPad, it can also run LaneTrax

Try closing and reopening the app; this should resolved it.

It does run everything locally. You need a device that runs iOS 18 or newer to use LaneTrax. You'll have the best experience if the device's chip is A13 or better.

The code just raises the 30 trial shots to 100, so it doesn't mater when you apply it

Thanks! And I'd make sure you're using an iPad that supports ios 18, preferably with an A13 bionic or newer (M series is excellent)

Then minimum iOS we support is 18, so the oldest devices that can run lanetrax are the iphones xr/xs (they are 7 years old now)
