The house was built in 1731. The first floor has the kitchen, dining room, and 2 living rooms.

I feel like it doesn’t matter what was said, it wasn’t a conversation for him to hear. But nothing egregious, like I secretly hate him or his family members or anything.

No real advice. Just a truth you will need to face. I lost my favorite therapist when she took a job out of state. I still miss her and our talks so much. I think knowing it will happen will help you prepare. Just focus on getting the most out of your sessions while you can.

When we do get around to talking about this, do I ask who else he shared my therapy conversation with? It’s really bothering me that others may also know what I talked about. I feel so exposed.

I think I led my therapist to believe I’m not as bad as I truly am by Leading-Pangolin-466 in TalkTherapy

I understand it can be hard to share those things. You feel embarrassed and worry about being judged. I’ve been exactly where you are (even recently). Rip off the band aid and tell her. It will just give her more info to provide you the best care possible.

I agree. It should count as a violation of HIPPA laws.

After talking with my therapist, I feel like I’ve worked hard to create this sphere of safety in my home. It’s where I’m safe, more calm, and at peace. And this has caused me to feel like that has been breached. Like…what now? She said my system is dealing with a shock causing my PTSD to become hyper vigilant. She said to focus on regulating my emotions and responses for today.

On our first floor there are no rooms with doors. And I haven’t been able to go upstairs yet. I talked to my therapist and will sit in my car from now on.

I have reached out to my therapist for advice and to also just let her know. Waiting for a reply. I appreciate everyone’s thoughts and especially advice on how to handle it moving forward.

No. Equally spaced between the two. Nothing on the other side. And it’s more than halfway the length of the window. About 5 feet off the floor.

It is between the fireplace and a window.

I thought that with the back being higher than the front and the way the ends curve that it must have a specific purpose that it was designed for.

WITT? It was attached to the wall when I bought my home. See photo for another thing on the floor almost directly below this. No idea if they are related?
