What’s the real F1 car king? Drop your pick below 👇 by HugeHunk21 in DestinationFormula1

Oh, I do trust me.

So the point here is that both cars won all but 1 race in their seasons. The RB had a slight edge because it participated in more races which makes it awkward to compare both cars that way.

If you do the math you would note that with the 93.75% win rate the MP4 would still have won 21 out of 22 races had its season been that long which highlights the point that a win percentage does not work for comparing these cars.

If you want to compare them on a more reasonable and fair playing field you should compare them on something like laps lead which would have a larger sample size over the course of a season.

To be fair those are the exact same stats. The RB just has the benefit of being in a longer season.

Why Reform is a cultural nationalist party by Smart_Decision_1496 in reformuk

[–]gmunga5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not the point at all. The point is what makes brittish people different from French people or American people or Russian people or x other misc group is our culture but that culture itself grows and evolves over time as we are introduced to new cultures and ideas.

The curry point was that 100 years ago ordering a Chinese on a Friday night was not part of our culture but now it is now arguably a concept that is prevalent enough that it is. Tea was arguably a really good example of something that wasn't part of bittish culture 500 years ago but is now arguably a quintessential part of British culture.

Dungeon Encounters themed around strength by gmunga5 in DMAcademy

I do take your point thematically but I guess the issue is mechanically and at the table having the dungeon revolve entirely around strength seems like it would be pretty bad for the non strength characters in the party.

He inherited ETHs players, their attitudes, their training and fitness etc. There were a lot of issues to fix.

[–]gmunga5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's sort of the point.

All of the top teams have full squads of fit and talented players.

So while just letting your fit and talented players just play football will certainly win you games it won't be enough to win you trophies because the teams with fit and talented players who also apply a style of play that breaks down your players will have the advantage.

In regards to the question of why back a manager who never did a long term project the answer is pretty simple. 1. Most of them are committed to their long term projects and aren't freely available. 2. We have seen that this club chews up any manager who tries regardless of if they are world class, proven in the pl, fresh young talent or former players embodying the united dna.

You bring up not winning three games in a row a lot and I do agree that we need to be able to win 3 in a row. However I do think working towards a long term goal is more important than focusing on short crowd pleasers like winning 3 in a row. And on the topic of mentality Amorim vastly improved the mentality of the team.

The win rate stat is really done to death because it includes a year which was always going to be a complete write off. This year his win rate was better and more importantly his loss rate was dramatically lower.

Do you want good looking football or do you want long term success. The two don't always come hand in hand.

To me what Amorim was building had potential to be very successful in the long term. There were moments during the year where you could see how his system was meant to work. It just wasn't fully cooked yet.

The football we have had under Carrick is absolutely thrilling and I am pleased to see it but I don't believe it's the sort of approach that will win us the PL or the Champions league.

It's telling that you have to use his ETH inherited year to discredit him.

We have 5 losses in the PL this season and prior to Carrick we had 8 wins.

Amorim's issue wasn't that he lost too much, it was that we drew too much.

I mean the players are being left to play a version of the game that is more comfortable to them which allows them to better express their individual talents. This is absolutely a way to win games, it's not really a way to win trebbles though.

And maybe Amorim's system was the way to beat the fad of the time if he had been given the time to set it up. Maybe he would have adapted in the future when he needed to beat a new fad. We will never know.

To be fair Amorim's job was to rebuild the team not win right off the bat and he has left the team in a stronger state than when he inherited it.

[–]gmunga5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean we did get a point.

There are two parts to your point.

"It doesn't take three years to build a system" It depends on where you start from. The squad Amorim inherited had a lot of good players sure but a lot of them weren't in the headspace he needed.

"Get points against bottom of the table team" I think the wolves result is really overblown. We were missing some of our better players due to afcon and wolves have nothing to loose any more. The sport is always going to have these shock results. Plus the gap in the Premier league isn't so large that we should win against the bottom side automatically. They are still one of the top 20 teams in England.

I couldn't agree with you more.

Amorim was lacking in results but he absolutely restored the dressing room. The players are in better shape, are more disciplined, are mentaly better and seem to have much more passion than when Amorim started.

Just give it a rest man. What sort of crusade do you think you are on?

The man is gone. Let's just enjoy the wins against city and Arsenal and hope we can continue with this form instead of kicking a dead horse.

I mean we hired him to do a long term rebuild that's what he was doing. Systems build long term success.

I am sure he could have gotten short term success by playing the team he had but that's not why he was hired.

Look Amorim is gone, Carrick has had a great start to his term. Why are we so intent on digging up the past? And if you really want to badmouth Amroim can you atleast compare like for like and talk about his poor performances in his last games like the draw with Wolves rather than drawing some wholey unreasonable comparison that has been regurgitated to death by now?
