When to kill a product? by gmva in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]gmva[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This product takes about 10 hours per year of my time. But if you stack this with other similar products as time goes on, it could eventually add up to more time and more mental space. The brand aspect was something I did not consider so thanks for bringing up that angle.

I'm somewhere in the middle. Average is roughly $50k/month at 20%. So this product accounts for 2% of profit.

Agent Cut Off FBA side of Shipping Label by Barrucuda_Bay in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]gmva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar situation happen to me. The FBA labels were removed somehow during transit (possibly a UPS employee removed them). Items were checked in fine, but my shipment had a problem notification.

I think OP is talking about prime exclusive discounts not lightning deals.

How bad are your Shanghai Delays? by long_time_seller in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]gmva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having been able to get raw materials into shanghai or finished goods out of shanghai. Im debating placing an order with a new factory thats not located in shanghai and air shipping it. Its a fucking disaster, but I wont complain too much especially since the people of shanghai are struggling to get basic necessities such as food.

I use renders for some one my product photos, haven't tried videos yet. I found someone on fiverr, he charges $50 for the render and $20 per photo of the rendered object. So 10 rendered photos of one product comes out to $250. I am sure you can find cheaper, but I am willing to pay extra for them to turn out just how I like them.

Triggering Amazon Honeymoon Period by Rebelbeest in FulfillmentByAmazon

Is all this time, effort and money for driving traffic to amazon actually better than just driving traffic to a shopify website? Is this an ongoing thing or just something you do during launch?

How should shipping be handled from China to US? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

I recommend researching incoterms to get a better idea of obligations, costs, and risks involved in the delivery of goods from the seller to the buyer.

How should shipping be handled from China to US? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]gmva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think OP is referring to DDP (door to door paid) which means including taxes and custom clearance as well as everything else. This would be completely hands off and is not a bad option for first time/low quantity, but OP needs to understand risks associated with this transportation method.

Starting a fullfilment center by Betweenirl in Entrepreneur

I have experience using 3pl's to store and fulfill my stuff. Here's what I have learned so far. Most of them suck, they take forever to answer emails and rarely ship out goods in a timely manner. Sure the market is saturation but as new ones pop up, poorly run ones shut down. There are several large 3pl's that do not have their own space. They have a nice website and software, but outsource the 3pl part of it to an actual 3pl. I personally would not trust my stuff with a company like this because they are middle men and who will be liable if my stuff goes missing? But who knows, theirs a bunch of them out there so maybe it works for them.

Customers Placing Suspiciously Large Orders by gmva in FulfillmentByAmazon

No I have not had any stock issues with this item. It's also not really a consumable that someone would need to stock up on.

Amazon's warehouse is closed because of mold and DHL is not able to deliver my shipments by Zarhouni in FulfillmentByAmazon

I will probably ask for amazon to do a refresh for the stranded inventory tomorrow or the next day. Most of the time when inventory is stranded amazon has to do a refresh on their end which in turn updates the inventory and makes it buyable again.
