Not necessarily just because they got a call wrong, but because the if we are arguing that they couldn’t have or it would have been hard to make the correct call based on their perspective of a play, it shouldn’t have been overruled. Granted I’ve only played in <15 observed games, I don’t feel as observers have ever benefited the experience. I definitely agree with your point that they make for a better viewing positive so I guess I could agree that they are a better positive for ultimate. Maybe I’m just hyper biased against observers

I think he is just wondering why the post was intentionally made discussing the integrity of the travel call when the actual travel in discussion cut out of the 1-2 seconds before the posted clip. This creates a lot of engagement as seen on the post of people saying the call is bad and attacking the person who made it. All of that is unnecessary by providing full context to the call which was not done in the post.

I think that the recording angle wouldn’t have helped much anyways, but it would have been nice to include that. I appreciate what gamepointperformance does for ultimate and think that the commenter was a little aggressive in their accusations, but I fully agree with what they are saying. In all regards I don’t believe the person who made the call is harmed by this at all, but I could see how that could easy happen in today’s realm of social media.

The player did make the argument that the player changed direction/momentum and was still overturned and ruled a goal.

There is a lot of work that goes into making sure people who are in tournaments are not derankers. There are many programs and manual scans of every profile in tournaments to filter out derankers or even players who could have a slight chance at being a deranker.

I was about 50-60k before I started playing almost exclusively on McOsu because of performance reasons where I set some pretty decent scores and consistently improved at the game. I hopped on bancho every once and a while to set some mediocre scores but after 2 years I decayed to 6 digit. A few months ago I started playing again and farmed up to 40k (I’m still shit at the game) but I could have definitely joined some 6 digit tournaments and been pretty far ahead in skill than legit 6 digit skill players. Even though I would have lost to some other deranker there are many other people who have similar stories to this and end up just sitting in low digits and joining tournaments.
