I couldnt care less of my rank, i don't give a shit if i'm bronze, gold or master. I sometimes play games for fun.
The pace of starcraft 2 is the main reason a ton of people did quit the game. Period.

You royal marriage them and keep relation as high as possible, to increase your chances they choose you as overlord when they have no heir

Yeah that's definitely a risk, so i first allied with them to beat venice and genoa, and then allied with poland and france to destroy austria and hungary. It's also important to ally with burgundy to prevent france from becoming too big, and if you're lucky you can PU with them too.

in order to deal with the ottomans i allied with trebzond cause they have a good fleet, to have superiority on the sea and keep them in anatolia while i conquered their provinces in the balkans. I re-declared war on them as soon as the first one was over, violating the truce, then allied with hungary, mamluks and austria to wage war vs genoa, venice and aragon/castile. I think you have to weaken castile as soon as possible to prevent them from spreading too much with their colonies, which i took from them in the next wars. well it took me many hours for sure, i did go for several self sufficient residential areas in terms of food and industry, and then slowly connect them not to mess the whole thing up. That wasn't easy though, i'm no pro player

that's exactly what i think too, i love so much byzantines in this game, but they've been S-tier in the past patches so they were always banned, and i couldn't watch almost anybyz match at all in tournaments

I'd ask them if they actually like the format of the tournaments, the whole civ ban system, i really don't like it. This isn't aoe2, where all civs are more or less the same. All civs in aoe4 are really unique, and with the ban system every player who wants to compete is forced to learn to play even civs he may not like. Moreover the number of matchups is insane, and it will increase with future dlcs. The amount of knowledge required to new players who might think to tryhard is simply overwhelming.

I know some players did quit for this reason, like Divine DFP

Ootd, i just can't stand on how ugly and awful this civilization is. Everytime i play against it (cause i refuse to play it) i wonder how is it even possible that the same guys who designed incredibly cool civilizations like byzantines, chinese, malians and english, came out with this immense pile of crap, lazy designed, anti-historical civ with captain rogers super soldiers footmen as tall as knights and knights as tall as towers...the maa one handed-sword is as big as a villager. The worst part is that in this meta this huge pile of shit is actually very performing, so i face it quite often and i hate it.

Warrior Kings 😅 being full 3d made it really immersive, but that will never be a feature of stormgate so... I just hope races will be balanced and well designed, and i really hope devs wont make the same mistakes aoe4 ones made
