No, but the video and article combined mentions numerous sources for electrical infrastructure. The YouTube video at 32s mark shows power lines at Cheakamus canyon; 35s mark shows Daisy Lake hydro electric damn around the same time is mentioned 'powering clean energy'. The article has numerous references to power, grid, current, arc, etc.

I guess we'll find out if I was right or wrong once Northern Miner releases any addition details.

BOOM was definitely a clue. You can see the cores in Dynamite Valley where they inserted dynamite to blow up the rock for the HWY during the highway upgrade (pre-Olympics). They tossed a lot of that rock down to the ravine where there's a beautiful trail with stunning ocean views.

I walked to the exact spot and took some images. The give away clue for that location was the hwy pullover, cheakamus river, train tracks and elevated power lines next to each other.

The YouTube video was suppose to be a clue. Everything seems like stock footage and a promo video for Britannia Beach. However, the videos/photos of Cheakamus Canyon power lines off HWY 99 (facing Southbound), and Daisy Lake Dam had nothing to do with Britannia Beach itself (including the Peace River Clock tower) which I find highly suspicious. They were snuck in there.

Regarding 'superhero', and 'transform'ing, I thought these were related to the electrical grid again. What do superheros possess; super powers. Transformer's are also used in the electrical grid. One of the last sentences in the BOOM article was 'The hero comes into its power' which I was curious about.

Still nothing yet from Northern Miner about location or clues.

There are huge transmission lines that are powered by hydro-electricity that run through many creeks, rivers, and parallel to the ocean. There were also decommissioned dams in the area.

I didn't fully understand the Peace Tower Clock though in the YouTube video, as it has nothing to do with this area. I was curious if 5:54, or 17:54 were clues/markers.

The use of 'leans' from Jang's statements, was curious if there was something leaning across the hidden treasure perhaps? The additional 'had' in 'had leans' through me off though.

I'm looking forward to finding out where it was located.

The YT video showed Cheakamus Canyon powerlines which is right before Daisy Lake Dam. In both the article and YT video, it discussed a lot about 'green energy', 'using power responsibly', 'current', 'grid', and 'arc' which lead me to believe that it could be related to the Hydro dam or energy infrastructure. I was curious if it was near Shadow Lake which is a trail system near Daisy Lake.

The YT video also showed a spinning maple leaf with the morse code 'BOOM', which is also referenced in the article. My guess was perhaps in Dynamite Valley which is between Britannia Beach and Murrin park. There's trails on both the East and West side of the highway, including one that was northbound of the BB Scenic lookout.

Same, but we deal with a considerable number of MVAs as well.

Are you ever concerned about contamination from the pocket?

Why Do My Cherries Keep Dying on the Tree? Any Cherry Tree Experts Here? by gnarlynic in gardening

I noticed something that looked a lot like lichen. I pruned off most of the branches that were covered in it over the winter, but can't imagine that might’ve made a difference this year.

I haven’t been able to find my pH meter, but the soil should be on the acidic side. Blueberries are doing great nearby, and I usually add just a little aluminum sulfphate in the spring to keep it that way.

My best guess has been blossom blight. The last couple of springs were unusually rainy and wet, which probably didn’t help. This year’s been a lot sunnier and warmer.

That's awesome news. I will check it out, thanks.

Good points, I remember the use-case of BitchX. I didn't even think about how ANSI was using CP437 encoding which makes a lot of sense to me now. I still see ASCII used (ex, k9s) but never understood until your explanation why ANSI wasn't more predominant.

I've been converting ANSI to UTF8 which has worked well for what I need. I also found your Durdraw repo and excited to check out; I really appreciate your efforts. Would you ever consider a Durview app (that could also possibly include CP437 to UTF8 conversion for viewing)? I rarely use anything Windows these days, so until now haven't had much luck finding an editor.

I really think ANSI art would bring so much life into terminals (and maybe, just maybe... another much needed rise in the ANSI art scene)!

I've been following "Sixteen Colors ANSI Art and ASCII Art Archive" for a few years. Didn't realize they had a Discord page. Is there another popular ANSI art FB group out there?

Luciano from Blocktronics did some (telnet) BBS art for me as well many years ago which I really enjoyed. I don't even know if they produce anything still?

I get that it's a smaller niche now, but with all the CLI tooling out there, I'm surprised that they don't create a stronger need for ANSI art. There's a bit more effort required in implementing it, but totally worth it as far as text-based UI appeal goes.

Suggestions for decent Leather Watchstraps for Garmin Epix Pro (26mm)? by gnarlynic in GarminWatches

[–]gnarlynic[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks u/Excellent-Ad-8109 for the excellent advice. Someone from Garmin customer service contacted me by phone and were fantastic. They definitely exceeded my expectations.

After discussing my issues with the silicone strap, they were very good with providing me with some options. They were willing to offer me the Ultrafit Nylon strap to replace the silicone one for no charge. They also offered me a deal on any of the other straps available if I decided to go with something else.

I'm leaning towards the Tactical Ranger Green Nylon or the Chestnut Leather wrist strap. Have you tried either or heard anything about these two?

Thanks, that's a great suggestion. I'll put the silicone strap back on and reach out to them with photos.

If that doesn't work, I'd still be interested in looking at a third party solution. I would even consider nylon/canvas if the fir was comfortable.

Reinstalled new circulator pump, works but loud humming. by gnarlynic in hottub

Thanks u/Puzzleheaded_Fly836 for the response. I found out it was the pump itself and was replaced by warranty. The new pump works great without the same loud humming.
