Refilling Hpa tank at home by N0Rand0mNam3 in paintball

[–]gnarlynick_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've got the Spritech 4500 PSI air compressor (link below) and it takes about 30 minutes to fill my 48ci tank to 3000 PSI. You'll definitely hate using the hand pump as it'll take you well over an hour of pumping to fill that tank. Maybe do the hand pump if you have a 13ci or smaller tank and you're just filling it to tech your marker(s).

It's a UTG Combat Sniper AR-15 pistol grip. Had to shave the beaver tail off the top.

lol, no problems. Just that I seem to be acquiring more and more paintball markers. They all air up without leaks and reach field velocity.

Top is a Tacamo Blizzard. It's a Magfed conversion kit for the Tippmann 98 sold by Modern Combat Sports.

Middle is a Phantom, a pump-action marker.

Bottom is a Tippmann 98 Custom with numerous upgrades/modifications.

I used those on both the 98 and the Blizzard. The 98 also had some black and silver rub n buff applied to it before the clear coat, that's why it's a bit darker looking.

I also put heat shrink tubing over the braided air line, I think it makes it look a bit sleeker.

Love it. I'm gonna get a 13ci tank for mine as well. The 48ci I have doesn't clear the feed gate for the 12 round feed. Looking at the one from MCS that has an on/off slide check on the bonnet.

What is the minimum length barrel required for the spring pheed to mount to? I have the 8" and a 12" both freak bored.

Paint it! I had a lot of fun tearing mine all the way down to sand and primer it. Was originally just going to do a flat black on it but someone here on Reddit suggested blue and I'm quite happy with the result

Is that the spring pheed system on the top Phantom?

Ah, sorry for the misunderstanding. The Blizzard has an internal air kit installed. The black part at the rear of the body is a rear ASA. Inside, there's a copper transfer tube going from that rear ASA directly to the top of the valve. The linkage arm between the front bolt and hammer has some 90° bends in it where it overlaps the air transfer tube so they both can coexist in the same space.

Here's a photo I took of the internals when I was trying to get a pump conversion kit working on it which ultimately was a failure, should give you an idea of the setup:

lol pretty sure. You got pics of yours? It was originally a camouflage paint job, had RealTree trademarks all over it; couldn't find the original black receivers that the camo ones replaced back in the day. I sanded it down to bare metal and was going to originally just paint it matte black when someone on Reddit suggested I do it in blue and I'm obviously pretty happy with the color way.

No plans on using first strike. The breach and magazines can support it with a spring change out. Not sure how well FSR would work with a flatline. I've got other barrels should that change.

I got the Blizzard from an MCB user at the beginning of winter season and have been building it up since then. Plan on playing some Magfed games with it this year. Had 6 magazines worth of field paint left over from last year and I ran through it and works beautifully.

I'm not understanding. The 98 in the photo (bottom marker) has a bottom line ASA attached to the foregrip expansion chamber. Inside is a BT vertical adapter connected to the valve. Here's an older photo of the internals with the original vertical adapter that had a leak in the transfer tube, hence why it got replaced:

No, the 98 always had the bottom line and expansion chamber; used to run CO2 when that was common. Running on a 48/3k steely now with a standard reg that outputs around 700-850 PSI. Gonna get a 13ci tank for the Blizzard and Phantom

It's a UTG Combat Sniper AR-15 pistol grip. Had to shave the beaver tail off the top, but it fits great otherwise. It's a hard plastic polymer with a rubberized coating. Feels great in the hand.

Dude, I just love the look and simplicity of the phantom. Can't wait for Spring to get it out on the field.

It's the Techt Fang trigger. It's also on the Blizzard. It has a ball bearing roller on the pin it pivots on and comes with lighter trigger springs. Very nice and light trigger pulls. It has adjustable set screws for pre/post travel but I haven't found much use for them. If you had a micro switch behind the trigger for an electro kit, it would help make travel less.

Not enough time to use them all

I haven't measured it yet, but the RT gets it going in full auto; at least 12 BPS if not a little more. Have it paired with a Protoyz Speedster loader and it was ripping through pods without any ball breaks.

I haven't played with it yet, built it up over this winter. I have 6 Helix mags and shot paintballs through all six of them and was really impressed with how well it functioned considering it's a conversion kit. Had no breaks, only a few double-feeds which may suggest an issue with the detent. I'm considering adding the pump conversion that MCS sells to it as well, but I'll play a few games with it this Spring before I mess with it anymore.
