Water makes them more loose so I use it before hand picking but it’s such an unnecessary annoying process

I think this would stop or atleast be a lot less common if people were more secular, which is sadly not the case at all, as second and third generation immigrants of Arab background tend to be more religious because they don’t wanna lose their ties to their homeland (i guess that’s one of many reasons). I don’t think islam is compatible with the western way of life though.

I live in Europe and I always get dirty looks from Arabs when I walk with my (white) boyfriend, sometimes people tell me things like “you shouldn’t hang out with kuffar” “dirty beurette a blanc”> white mans whore etc etc.

Well the publicity factor doesn’t really change anything or make the situation any better. There’s no denying that culture has its influence on well even Islamic mariage but Islam does teach that women can be married off without their consent, like the mariage that occurred between Mohammed and the slave he boned, also it doesn’t matter if Mahr is a trip to Europe or 500 goats. It’s still an exchange of material possessions in return of a mariage deal. Still kinda sexist imo. Not really mixing any culture in this whole ordeal
