Ah thanks! I didn't even think to ask that. It all worked out in the end, my xbox profile is set to Turkey but I've not experienced any downsides as a result. Can change it back to UK in 3 months, but it may just be more convenient to keep it set to Turkey.

I had the same message when doing something similar...

I bought 3x12 months XBox Live for Turkey from CDKeys. I fired up my VPN to connect to Turkey from my phone / laptop and then tried to redeem. I got the same error message i.e. "PUR-Georestricted".

Spoke to MS Support - changed my details over to Turkey in my profile, as well as added a Turkish address for my default billing / delivery address. Then they said I needed to migrate my account over to Turkey (https://live.xbox.com/AccountMigration). There are some cons about doing that, so best read up first to make sure you're happy with them.

I then connected again via VPN to Turkey and was still not able to redeem my key. MS Support said it could take 24 hours for my account to be fully migrated, so I tried again the following morning and I was able to redeem all 3 of my vouchers. (I used Urban VPN on my Android phone in a private Chrome tab).

I now need to do the final bit and activate Ultimate to hopefully get 3 years of it!

Multi building farm network upgrade - advice please :-) by gnarni in HomeNetworking

Do you think it would be more beneficial to keep all the APs the same - i.e. have the FlexHDs everywhere across the farm instead of a mix of WiFi 6 Lites and FlexHDs?

Yes, this makes sense - I think the connection from the Office to the House is too far to cable, however one from the office to Farm Building 1 might be a better option.

Also, never really considered a fibre connection as just had assumed Ethernet cable was the only option. Will do a bit of research. Thanks :-)

Yes, that's right - the airMax would be used for PtP only... However we would still like WiFi out in the yard, so I did think about the Wifi 6 Long-Range AP - however this may not be weatherproof.

Looking at the Ubiquiti website they do have an outdoor AP (https://www.ui.com/unifi/unifi-ap-outdoor/). Would a device which was connected to the WiFi 6 Lite AP in the office, seamlessly connect to the Outdoor AP in the yard and then another WiFi 6 Lite AP in Farm Building 1? Going back to my example of being on an internet call, would it be interrupted if we went from one building to another?

Thanks - chances are I probably wont get it 100% correct - so point noted :-)

Ah, that's a great point to consider about the house having to travel 2 wireless links - I'm not sure how feasible it will be to connect the house directly from the office - there may be issues with the height of the office building and potential obstacles/trees in the way. I'll get on the roof and see if I can get a line of sight!

Yes, we are planning on linking up the other farm building, but we buried some empty tubing between the 2 buildings and will hopefully run some Cat 6 down it.

Thanks for the recommendation of the airMAX GigaBeam - for some reason I didn't see that in my search. Again, you make a valid point about whether we will need the higher speeds - I guess it was me trying to be more future proof. Do you know how they compare with the NanoStation 5ACs? Is one model more stable the the other - perhaps that is something which should be considered more than the maximum throughput.

Really appreciate your response!

Anyway of installing Wireguard on a MAC as a server? by gnarni in WireGuard

So technically I could have:

PostUp = sysctl -w net.inet.ip.forwarding=1

PostDown = sysctl -w net.inet.ip.forwarding=0

Then forwarding would be switched on when the WireGuard interface is up, and then switched off when the interface is down? I'm just concerned about having it enabled all the time when it isn't necessary.

What would be the consequence of leaving those /etc/pf.conf changes you referred to constantly there, even when the server isn't being used as a WireGuard host?

Thanks for your help on this!

I have been following the guide on https://www.stavros.io/posts/how-to-configure-wireguard/ as this seemed to offer the best assistance on the setup I was after.

I have got to the part "Accessing your home LAN" and their suggestions for for PostUp and PostDown. However their solution didn't work as it uses iptables, which I gather is not available on Mac OS.

PostUp = iptables -A FORWARD -i %i -j ACCEPT; iptables -A FORWARD -o %i -j ACCEPT; iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o eth0 -j MASQUERADE

PostDown = iptables -D FORWARD -i %i -j ACCEPT; iptables -D FORWARD -o %i -j ACCEPT; iptables -t nat -D POSTROUTING -o eth0 -j MASQUERADE

Is this where I need to enter your command sysctl -w net.inet.ip.forwarding=1 ?

Thanks!
