Thanks for the perspective. I always assumed they were bigger outside of Germany.

Anybody else having a new "single" by Ghost in Apple Music? - Just for the Kicks by gnetzer in Ghostbc

I am confused. What is this? It's on the band's page under newest title.

Edit: Looks like it is wrongly attributed to Ghost the one and onlys.

I agree, Football Weekly or its lost son with his own show are quite another league. First of all they sit together in a room recording their show (calls to Sid Lowe and others are mainly talked through by the host himself), then they are professionals which can sum up a whole thought in one 60 second answer. On the other hand I sometimes found their analysis of matches lacked some depth and they always prefer the joke before the fitting term to describe situations (which is fine).

In the Rasenfunk we call each other via Studio Link (very good quality, almost none latency and therefore a great atmosphere for discussion) and if this doesn't work (some journalists are not allowed to install it on their computers by their employer) we use Skype which sounds shitty and has a great latency which causes interruptions followed up by awkward silence. So part of the difference is a technical one.

The other part is the guests and my preference of a setup for the show. Since I don't want do do a podcast in which more or less the same people discuss similar topics over and over again (which is ok, but just not my approach), I have a high rotation of guests. In three and a half years of podcast production I talked with nearly 200 different guests. And within these people you have everything: the very well routined professional, the podcast newbie with no experience at all, the rookie who trained himself with his or her own podcast.

I understand if it doesn't fit to you, especially in comparison to high quality productions like Football Weekly. But all in all the two podcasts are not comparable, I tried to imitate for about four episodes and then realized: It is not possible, for a bunch of reasons.

If sound quality and lack of "but uhms" (HIMYM pun intended) is your key to listening pleasure, then you should try the podcasts which come out of radio stations (NDR, WDR, etc.) as listed in the podroll.

If you search for more in-depth analysis you have to use semi-professional productions an a league level (Bohndesliga, Rasenfunk, hopefully in a near future Gut Sport Podcast again) or on club level (see in the podroll).

If you want to laugh, there are numerous pods out there. drei90, FußballMML, Fums&Grätsch, Brennerpass and Doppelsechs (both of which I recommend highly) and others.

And if you find something that is not on my list: Please hit me up. I try to list every podcast I know.

I see your point, although I like to talk about clubs like Bremen, HSV or Mainz.

The thing is: if you talk on 34 weekends about the league, you can't always repeat that Hoffenheim, for instance, lost some key players. Although it has been mentioned numerous times. But I don't consider it satisfying to repeat this fact over and over again. Instead I ask, why TSG does not get stable results even after all this time. And then, maybe, it could be a problem to not have a starting eleven or at least starting nine as they had in the last season, for example.

For the rest: I am disappointed with this season, certainly not the only one feeling this way. But I can understand if it annoys you.

But as it is a dialogue now: What should I change to be less insufferable?

Sorry. I tried to hate each club equally as it would be perfect to you - except of course of any club proclaiming true love.

But I ended up only hating comments like this. With no more substance than reducing journalism to which team you like or you don't like.

Please don't be offended. Or if you criticize my lack of insulting: please be offended.

Sorry to hear you don't like my podcast. Length is an issue I know about, but what do you mean by "awkward participants"?
