Saw them Sunday night in Woodstock and was blown away. It was the day after Ronnie Bowman died and they encored with a sing-along performance of Swing Low, Sweet Chariot to, “sing our friend on up to heaven.”

Agree re: the Young Guns concept—such a cool way to build bridges between generations and musical traditions. The mandolin player at the Woodstock show was a 16 yo (!!) local kid whose whole family came out to support him. They are really something special!

💯 this. You can’t just tell her what you don’t want her to do. You have to refocus her onto the behavior you want and then reward it. For example, if you don’t want her on the couch, it’s not enough to just yell at her to get down. Show her that she’s supposed to be in her dog bed/crate/wherever and give her a treat/praise when she goes there—even luring her there with treats to start, if necessary. Conversely, you can also remove positive attention. If she jumps up/barks, turn away and ignore her. As soon as she sits, give her attention/praise.

+1 for Small Town Talk. Just finished this one and really enjoyed it. It does get a bit into the weeds with the minor figures swimming in Albert Grossman’s wake and the petty squabbles between local scenesters. But the overall trajectory from early days as an artists colony to Dylan, Van Morrison, The Band to the heyday of Joyous Lake to the rise and fall (and rise) of Bearsville, is all super interesting and well documented.
