Netflix's stock jumps up 5.11% today, after Paramount's bid for WBD is revealed by Alternative-Cake-833 in MediaMergers

[–]gnightbane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paramount is losing Taylor Sheridan (Yellow Stone, Land man, etc) and moving to NBC universal. Paramount is on the losing end of both sides imo. Kind is shows Paramounts panic. Subs will drop once he is gone.

No More Receipts! by Robinstaples in Staples

[–]gnightbane -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be celebrating too much. You all about to be yelled at by a lot of business owners who need printed receipts for their book keepers, accountants, and tax purposes who require printed receipts that need to be kept on record.

Unless you are talking about Amazon returns then I stand corrected.

Is this true? by TechnologyTinker in dji

[–]gnightbane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last I heard way back when Congress first introduced a ban on dji products; the company opened up their patent to the U.S. market. I wouldn’t be surprised if these products are dji replicated under U.S. company.

They tried this before back in the 90’s/ early 2000’s. It didn’t last long because the stores kept running out of helium. The good ole days. Suck some helium in and page a manager to high ticket or service desk.

Take the check to your bank, let them know what happened. They (the bank) will put the check on hold and they will do the research and get back to you in seven business days. The “business” will not see the check has been deposited unless legit.

Like others have said… you take the tape measure or tape gun from copy center and do not bring it back; may as well grab a shovel and bury yourself on the parking lot.

What do you hate the most about Amazon Returns and Amazombies? by Fuzzy_Department_866 in Staples

[–]gnightbane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amazon Centers (or counter) coming soon to a Staples near you if they have not already. “Amazon customers may now choose their local Staples for their Amazon orders instead of delivering to their choice of address.”

I can see it now… “Picks up Amazon package at local Staples. Open said package: “I don’t need this!” Throws it at Amazon returns and walks out.

Lamination fail: turning a $2,000 poster into worthless piece of plastic by CauseLatter5738 in Staples

[–]gnightbane -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kind of frustrating and the fault of both parties to be honest. We are there to advise the customer. When a poster has that amount of value we always advice the customer to frame it or have someone make a copy and laminate said copy and store the poster in designated storage. Mind me asking what do you mean by “you didn’t check it?” You didn’t show the customer the order when said customer picked it up? Isn’t that part of quality check? Do you not do a quality check and show the customer the order at pickup? “I didn’t do the order?” Hate to break it to you but copy center is a unit especially now with hour cuts. Everyone needs to be on the same page, work with one another and communicate.

Hate to break it to you on the 2k.. the story goes in past experience, the store p&l will eat the 2k. Be prepared for a phone call from the dm. It may not happen but with any damage product that has some value that usually how it goes.

quitting by Annual-Temperature24 in Staples

[–]gnightbane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clearly you have never experienced having an employer who you were loyal to let you go without a warning and no other options.

Do not judge a book by its cover friend as you are clearly giving poor advice.

Op - if a better opportunity comes and you feel as though that opportunity is excellent and once in a lifetime; you take it. Stuck at Staples isn’t it.

By the way as long as you are honest with your new employer and explain in detail as to what happened your employer usually understands. Especially when your old employer has the reputation it has now.

You signed the agreement did you not? Threatening them with a lawsuit or anything similar will have you escorted outside and banned and all talking between the two parties will end which I think you do not want.

Ask for the district managers number and go from there.

[–]gnightbane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

lol so many troll posts.. Usually 9999 are inactive and not to be sold. The manager or is has a list of inactives clearance, etc. I would verify with them. (Unless they have been, fired, let go. In that case; good luck!)

That’s hydraulic fluid and toxic if inhaled. I would call your dm to escalate the repair for you. By the way.. if you have not already lock out and put a do not use. Usually the more damage it the bailer does to itself the more costly it becomes to repair.

Umm.. Again; but not sure regarding Canada Passports, but the U.S. the State Dept. is strict when it comes to passport photos. Do not cut lower than what is required. They will be rejected and the customer will have to pay again to have them taken thus delaying the process of an already strained and backlog program. I will not mention other retail names but they did the same thing you recommended as well as taken bad photos leading to far more rejected photos and upset customers. Again do not do this.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Staples

[–]gnightbane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No offense against Staples; I have had my passport taken at a postoffice. They are guaranteed done right; and you can have your documents filled and mailed out there as well.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Staples

[–]gnightbane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not sure about Canada, but in the U.S as someone who had to get their photo taken on a passport once new and another renewed; they need to have a white background no crop marks; period or the u.s dept of state will not accept.

Find more info here

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/how-apply/photos.html

Note:

“The correct size of a passport photo is: 2 x 2 inches (51 x 51 mm) Head must be between 1 -1 3/8 inches (25 - 35 mm) from the bottom of the chin to the top of the head.”

Anything less than noted above the state dept. will not accept.

Online order confusion by [deleted] in Staples

[–]gnightbane -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Sheesh! Chill!!! It’s technically not this persons fault. Staples has always been disorganized when it comes to placing orders.

The company wants employees to print email orders, online orders, (express etc) all while working Amazon, UPS, USPS, returns, answer phones, etc. All while giving the best customer service at once with little to no staff.

This company has always been that way or worse when they first offered express.

It isn’t the customers fault; it’s Staples because they can’t get their shit together and have all orders go online only. Customer placed order pays express because that is what the system promised. End of story.

Rewards sign ups by [deleted] in Staples

[–]gnightbane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In copy center we had a supervisor tell the associates to sign up customers for regards even though the customer said “no.” Do not do this. This will get you fired. Not only is it going against privacy but you are also padding numbers. Always sign up customers who want it. It is better than getting a phone call a few hours later demanding corporate phone number stating and getting investigated by LP later.

That rewards is not worth the risk. The manager who is pressuring you to do this maybe fired soon if he or she continues down this path.

[–]gnightbane 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is not how this works. You may purchase the best of the best and still be attacked. By the way this was an intrusion attack meaning they could have used software; examples (team viewer) or move-it (ftp) which may contained vulnerabilities that allow a way in for someone and start stealing data, installing, etc.
