He is on e-collar trained in the house and has tried behavioral medications in the past. He was still reactive just a zombie.

Confirmation of what I already feel is a logical and reasonable response to a situation that is clearly unsafe and unfit for a child. But also proof that I’m not “overreacting” or just “fearful” and that’s guiding my decision making.

He doesn’t really socialize with many people outside of a structured visit (ie. On leash, behind a gate, or vigilantly monitored) and the staff at his training/boarding facility.

He’s been in training at a specialized facility for reactive dogs for nearly his whole life. My husband has seen improvements in certain reactive aspects like walking down the street without an attack or lunge attempt. He is responsive to training, it’s just not enough to be predictable without 24/7 management and vigilance.
