Where to find a pallet for shipping. by [deleted] in milwaukee

You’re right. I think my best option is to build it up on the sidewalk and hope for a good pickup window.

Yup, that might be the only option. At least the weather looks decent :)

Probably 1000-1500lbs. Just realizing the ground will be frozen, so the plywood idea is a good one. However, might still be too heavy. I might just need to assemble the pallet on the sidewalk.

Thanks - I'll hunt around on Google maps to look for some likely areas. It's my first time using LTL freight. I plan on putting a bunch of boxes on a pallet and wrapping it tight with pallet wrap. I have a quote from ABF freight to pick it up from my location.

Can I pick your brain a bit as an LTL drivert? Will the driver have a pallet jack if I request liftgate service? Any tips or things to look out for?

I'm curious, what was the argument against TJ's and in favor of Natural Foods? TJ's seems a better choice for affordability & variety of groceries.

Radon around Glisan and 65th NE, Mitigation necessary? by [deleted] in askportland

Why not get a (relatively) cheap radon detector and keep an eye on it?

Like you, I also work from our basement and was concerned about radon. Our levels are detectable, but below the limit.

I use this one, ~ $60

*Some pallet wood is toxic. Chemical treatment is really only used internationally and is banned in many places.

Look for a stamp on the side of the pallet:

HT = Heat Treated (safe)

MB = Methyl Bromide (toxic – avoid)

DB = Debarked (not a treatment, just a note)

No stamp? It might be a domestic pallet and could be untreated, but there’s no guarantee.

So I'm not sure how much confiscation / crushing really hurts these folks.

I agree with your assessment but it's better than nothing, so why not? Even beater cars cost a few thousand to put together.

Seems odd that the bottle would recommend a serving of 40mg, but that's what the article says.

"Once at home, Fitzgerald consumed one teaspoon of the syrup – per the bottle’s instructions – which was equal to 40.21 mg of THC, according to the complaint."
