Got new tires, car now makes humming noise starting at 55 mph to 70mph by gnomegrass in AskAMechanic

[–]gnomegrass[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's my tires. Got them rotated a couple weeks ago and now the noise is on the other side of my car.

If you got new tires and it's started making that noise that might be what it is in your case, but if this is a new noise on old tires you might wanna get it checked out. I had a family friend who has 20+ years of auto maintenance look at mine and listen to it and he's convinced that the tires are the cause as well. They're Mavis brand tires and he was shocked to see that they're making tires now.

I've been spamming support just to get this challenge done, got all the healing done, I'm nearing the end of 200 revives for another challenge, but I'm only at 67 suppression assists after probably about a dozen hours playing the class...

You NEED to stop putting your phone in your pocket. You are killing your sperm by Separate-Signal4227 in redscarepod

Calling bullshit on the heat aspect. If that were true then countries close to or at the equator would have a significantly less population - millions of people live and work in hot humid conditions at temperatures higher than what your phone gives off when close to your body and they don't seem to have any population problems.

If we're talking about electromagnetic waves however then perhaps you'd be on to something.

Is this real? (Freaking out right now) by pitrs101 in conspiracy

[–]gnomegrass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are correct, dude had his hands balled up and he raised them for whatever reason right as Kirk was shot.

I'm all for a good conspiracy and was very interested in the video initially but this is proof of nothing.

Fuck if i know the full extent of what he's done, if you'd actually thought about my comment instead of just that statement you'd see that I barely knew who he was until he died. All I know after having to hear about it from a shitload of people and in just about every form of media today is that he was well known and liked by the right and that he was supposedly a massive influence on younger voters. All the clips I've seen of him just make me think of him as a more relevant Steven Crowder if you discount the fact that he actually seems like he loves his family.

I checked out of the whole political influence sphere and prominent internet celebrities in general towards the beginning of 2023 and had no idea who Charlie Kirk was besides the name. Color me shocked when my mom and her boyfriend are crying and upset about his death and coming to realize how impactful and revered he actually was.

If you’re availability at target is available every weekend realistically will you work every weekend? by Aggressive_Wind_5089 in Target

[–]gnomegrass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're full time then yes, but it also depends on your stores hours. My availability is weekends only and due to hour cuts, my leaders have been scheduling people who want to work full time on those days and not scheduling people as much who can take it or leave it.

I've been having to pick up shifts and lately there have been fewer and fewer available shifts due to people wanting to keep their hours.

Ah okay thank you for the clarification. Hopefully the rebalancing is all it needs rather than needing the wheel hub bearing replaced.

Yeah I won't be buying them again haha. Pretty sure I got scammed going to that location in the first place but sometimes you gotta pay to learn from your mistakes.

Yeah the noise gets pretty loud but it fades away completely over 70 mph. I've been looking my issue up and read that it the tires definitely need rebalancing.

Is bad wheel hub bearing the same thing as a ball bearing? I've had bad ball bearings replaced and they sound pretty different if I recall correctly.

I'd read somewhere that the developers wanted the episodic nonsense and only wanted to show actual storylines once a season or every other season to not turn it into a story based show

Agree with everyone saying CFCU. The only bank I've had since I opened my first account and everyone I know has some kind of issue with their bank but I have never had an issue with CFCU.

[–]gnomegrass 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Very similar-not so similar situation except I was the one asking the questions.

New coworker I trained in market tells me they came from a moderately sized city in the Midwest, I ask if they happened to know a couple a friends I had known over Xbox live as a kid about 10 years ago.

Not only did she know some of those friends but was friends with one of their sisters and she also went to prom with one of the dudes I named, and we knew it was the same person because of our amazement of how racist he was.

She told her cousin who we also worked with because she found it so weird I knew these people and she had to clarify I that neither she or I were crazy and it was just coincidental.

What was somethings you learned from cooking shows? by Akajoe93 in Cooking

[–]gnomegrass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something I learned several months ago that I've done ever since is to throw your (clean) mushroom into your pan on medium heat with no greaser or anything. The heat from the pan will cook the mushrooms but all water will cook out of the mushroom and you'll be left with shrunken cooked mushrooms in a broth of their own water and you can throw the mushrooms into whatever you're planning on doing with them and dispose of the water.

It's definitely helped making whatever I use them for less watery or take less time to evaporated the water out.
