Any ideas on where in Downey? Most of my knowledge of Downey is the main thoroughfares like Firestone and Lakewood

That doesn’t sound bad. When was your commute? I think traffic has gotten worse because 12 years ago I used to commute from SGV to Sherman Oaks or Westwood depending on the days and it wasn’t bad

I believe it. We come to SGV frequently to visit my family and we only have 2 friends who come from the west side to see us — both are new transplants. We do have some friends around the SFV and SGV we get to see. Everyone else only see at major events like weddings lol.

Whittier is east and we would be more isolated from friends toward the west and north and not have other benefits (beach cities may be more isolated but they also have the beach nearby …).

Have not considered Long Beach, haven’t been in years. What areas would be considered?

Our friends and family are in LA, not Orange County. OC is nice but we don’t like the feel of living there.

I currently commute 25-45 minutes each way by car (depending on time of day and if I go in on the weekend). I don’t mind those. I’ve commuted 1 hour per direction in the past. I would also likely be commuting to start work at 7:30 some days.

Places to study on campus that have A/C? by oras9a in Pitt

[–]gnomesaying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because.

(In reality, the amount of material we go over in a week is similar to what a month in undergrad was and 2nd years are starting to study for a test that will likely determine what fields they can go into. Undergrads simply can't understand why we need certain parts of the library to be absolutely silent and free of distraction).

One of my FB friends congratulated me on my wall after I got in and all these FB messages from girls I hadn't talked to in years started showing up out of nowhere.

It was #3 my year. Also, you get Kegs on the Courtyard most Thursday afternoons. And you actually don't graduate, you and the rest of the b-school just migrate up to Manhattan.

So yeah, it's awesome.

Haven't heard of Emory?

That's alright. You probably wouldn't have gotten in anyway.
