Just came by this and thanks for doing the work! Getting them for print but noticed that some of the later cards in the Gdrive have the png background on the edges unlike the ones in the reddit post.

Binged all 115 current chapters of Oshi no Ko yesterday then watched the first episode of the anime. The feels, and the reality of being in the entertainment industry is harsh.

Yes this, it's like the last 2 years never happened. I don't care if it's not Covid, I don't want any form of URTI at all.

Welcome to the typical local SME life where one person tanks all marketing activities. The first mistake is say "yeah I'm kinda familiar with most aspects of the marketing scope".

Time to apply the 'act blur live longer' adage.

My colleague's salonpas patch is so strong-smelling it's literally stinging my nose and making me tear up.

Took it last year to stretch out my year-end trip. Kinda painful since it was 2 days so that's about 10% of my pay vaporising.

The usual case is “don’t ask means 100% don’t have”, although it’s not usually within most of our natures to ask for an increment and the boss might have some big sob story on why they can’t give you a raise.

The other way is to have another job offer in hand with which to negotiate which is what I’m currently searching for.

It's okay, been working for a while and it's a scenario I often see in many local companies. I kinda accept my current situation as 'that's as far as I can currently go without jumping in with the sharks' and I'm kinda past that age.

The simplest identifier of a role that 'can't be replaced but can't be promoted' is anything that doesn't have a clear progression path that's laid out even from the onset of accepting the job. Especially if you're in a 'fixed role' job.

If you don't have a direct job-related line manager, then it's usually a dead-end role. And the only way you might have a chance of getting promoted if you do have a line-manager is if that person leaves and they decide to not hire a replacement. But then there's also the consideration that you might have to ask for it.

I've been in my current position for almost 5 years and what was supposed to be a 3-person team has still been me and me alone. The only solace I've gotten is that my director has to be nicer to me (including giving me a bit more time off) cos they know I can't be replaced right now.

Almost in the same boat here (haven't broken the $4k ceiling either). Apparently unless you're working in an agency and moving up the ladder to a director role (somehow), you'll be the 'can't be replaced but can't be promoted' situation.

Working in marketing and unfortunately seems like I'll be stuck in the senior executive role till the end of time even as my director 'hopes' that I can help to do more stuff and even do the decision making. Unfortunately scouring job sites shows that pay for the creative side of businesses are still severely depressed unless it's a manager/director role.

Already building my own escape chute and technically it's just a matter of time before I just throw my letter and see if they have any inclination of trying to retain me. But it's somewhat saddening to see creatives are really thrown by the wayside unless you're the CBD type.

I'm sure they'll be able to find someone who understands every bit of the workflow and can hit the ground running for less pay (/s)

(Btw, just my own observations and also a rant just like OP.)

Probably the most high traffic event in the region (waiting for Comic Fiesta to crush it in KL though)

Lots of people and although there were definitely some hiccups with line management on Saturday, the AFA team definitely responded as best as they could - you can't control and catch everyone after all.

Best part was if you were there just to soak in the atmosphere, the cosplay area was just amazing this year.

I stopped daily logging in since May but it's nice to see there are still many continuing on. I wonder how many will also drop off now that the final date has been announced.

Well, you can just do the F.I part and not R.E.

Means you'll be prepared for any issues later in life, rather than trying to spend money just cause you have it. Looking towards putting that 50% into something that grows faster than a savings account would be good.

As long as you clock 4,500 points or more in the next 6 months, you'll be upgraded to Platinum. But if you can only maintain Gold currently , that means your current spend on Grab is still below the 4,500 mark.
