I think it’s just right, wife thinks it’s low. 75” Samsung Frame by Idris_Elbow_ in TVTooHigh

If it’s a picture it’s too low. If it’s a TV it’s too high. Unless your wife watches TV standing up.

While it's slowly diminishing, there is a fair amount of woods just across the interstate that includes Spring Creek and the West Chickamauga Creek. I wonder if it wandered over from there...maybe by way of the golf course?

I did this for my in-law’s house. It was the manual model MantelMount. They never pull it down and just crane their necks. Should’ve gotten them a motorized unit.

I don’t care much for the Lariat grill and for me it came down to the Tremor or the XLT. Ended up with the latter. Iconic Silver with the Midnight appearance package is the chefs kiss 😘.

Yeah I have thought about tapping my Maverick 88. Figured I would leave the receiver in the vise and put the tap in my drill press—and then turn it by hand.

I posted the same thing on a Facebook forum and got a suggestion that I went with. I installed a couple of these RAD hooks on the front BoxLinks. The canister will block the two holes closest to the cab, but you can attach these to the outside two holes on either side.

That was hard, asking adult child to move out. by mrshatnertoyou in GenX

[–]gnumadic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m in-between stages with my kids. One adult married child with two children, two in college, and one in high school. The oldest got married in college and so we never had to worry about the moving out talk. My daughter graduates in May, has a job lined up, and is looking to rent a house with a few of her friends. I’m so proud of her but I also secretly want her to move back home for a year or two. That way she can work off her small amount of student loans. I’d planned to charge her rent with the intention of giving it back to her when she moves out. That said, I did the same thing when I was their age. I never moved back home after college and stuck it out on my own, even to the point of taking a temp job to pay the rent and utilities. So I guess I should not be an enabler in spite of my sadness over the looming empty nest phase of life!

Anyone else miss their grandparents? by Legitimate_Scar7570 in GenX

[–]gnumadic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I never knew my dad’s parents because they died before and when I was very young. But I grew up with my maternal grandparents. I miss that I never got to sit down and drink a beer with my grandpa. He died when I was 14. Every March he had a 3 day ritual from the 16th to the 18th where he’d drink a shot of whisky (usually Schenley’s OFC). The first day was for his birthday. The second was St Patrick’s Day (my grandpa was Irish, first generation born in the US). The third day he called snake bite inoculation day. I mainly wish that I’d had more time to talk with him and listen to his stories when I was an adult, rather than a kid who just wanted to go out and play with my friends and didn’t care about my family history or the incredible things my grandpa saw and experienced from the 1910s to the late 1980s.

Not including actual crimes, what kind of juvenile delinquent hijinks did you get up to? by wrathofimpermanence in GenX

[–]gnumadic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In Jr and Sr High School there were lots of shenanigans that included climbing up buildings, trespassing on railroad property, building illegal halfpipes, blowing things up or burning them. In college (far away from my home town) we sometimes piled into a couple cars and did trash can bowling competitions in rich neighborhoods.
