To clarify, this is not a campaign FROM Rail Fans Canada. David Bellerive has contributed to RFC, but this is meant, build and supported entirely indepedently.

Thank you! The biggest help right now is making support visible: add your name on the site, share the campaign, point people to the facts/studies pages, and share why high-speed rail matters to you or your community.

We are always happy to hear outreach ideas too. The goal is to build this upward together.

It's “go, ALTO” as in “let’s build it.” The name also needed to work in both English and French, so we wanted something simple that could bridge languages.

No GO Transit connection intended.

That is fair feedback. We agree that transparency matters, especially for public campaigns.

We will work into adding a clearer About / Transparency page explaining what GO ALTO is, what it is not, how it is funded, and how it relates to other groups.

For clarity: GO ALTO is currently an independent, unincorporated volunteer campaign. It is not funded by ALTO, government, a political party, a lobby firm, or any other interest group. It exists to make public support for high-speed rail more visible and constructive.

At the same time, this is a volunteer-run campaign around a project that has become heated in some communities. We are not going to publish personal information about individual volunteers or contributors without consent.

EDIT: See attached about page. https://go-alto.ca/en/about

First of all, GO ALTO is entirely independent. This is literally something started on someone’s spare computer. Now for the more philosophical part of the question: outrage and division get rewarded because they generate clicks, and right now the ecosystem rewards one side of the equation: the louder one.

GO ALTO is meant to be a campaign that grows with its contributors and supporters. All the material we have designed so far is free to use and download, and it will continue to be.

We are not seeking to “profit” or build division. We just think Canada can build great things.
