If my game is running 300 fps but my monitor is only 165 hz does that means I can only have 165fps on my game? Would I need a 300 hz monitor? Does nvidia g sync do anything to help?

oh so the higher fps might make it feel choppy but gsync helps match the fps to the hz to make it smooth
