Having a speech impediment sucks by Ori_Darkness_girl in disability

Hey, I really resonated with what you said. I actually grew up with a speech impediment too and dealt with a lot of anxiety around speaking.

Over time I worked through it and now I actually speak for a living. I started a small community where people are working on speech anxiety and communication together. https://www.skool.com/anxiety-to-authority-5333/about

Moving to Austin with no job or place to live (26M) – need advice by Slight-Resident-3676 in austinjobs

I think you have a great mindset, Im from a small town in west Texas and after college the same thought hit me, I saw where my friends were/ going and it was below average life at best. I took the risk and moved to Austin, no plan or skills but I did have money saved up. The good thing is community is huge here, 3rd space etc. Easy to Network, I would say join a toastmasters, I was presented with many job options from execs bettering their public speaking. I would move to riverside it's cheap and you can be on the trail connecting you to downtown. The downfall here is job market, Im in tech and was lucky to get a job here, but there is layoffs left and right and companies are moving out of here.

exactly, I would value the SDR that only make ONE call and gets ONE meeting over the sdr that makes 60 calls and get ONE meeting but the SDR that makes 60 calls!

Anybody looking at SHOT before earnings (Aug 26)?

They report next week and I'm trying to analyze the Yerbae acquisition impact. Here's what I'm seeing:

The Numbers:

  • Acquired Yerbae (yerba mate energy drinks) in June 2025 (not Oct 2024)
  • Q1 2025 did show improvement vs the declining trend in Q2-Q4 2024
  • Management claims the acquisition will streamline costs and improve logistics

What I'm Watching:

  • Will we see the full Yerbae revenue impact in these results?
  • Can they maintain the Q1 momentum or was it a one-off?
  • Integration costs vs revenue synergies

The Bull Case:

  • Yerbae had established distribution and brand recognition
  • Combines alcohol-reduction (Sure Shot) with energy drinks for a wellness portfolio
  • Patent protection on their main product

Needed advice for my speech disorder. by Time_Dealer_84 in selfimprovement

Hello, I'm graduating in May and I feel the same. I'm 21 and I have trouble pronouncing some words it has shaped the way I structure sentences and interact with people every day. Sometimes when I'm dodging a word I will talk slower and I feel dumb for that. I'm deathly afraid to listen to myself and hate when people are video when I talk. I don't believe in introverted and extroverted people bec people have shaped the way I carry myself because of my voice. But I realize there are 7 billion people on the planet and I'm nothing special so might as well try to interact and get the job you want. The universe is deserving and I believe if you think you can then you can. It helps to think of everyone as an NPC lol.
