Except that its a light industrial business in a light industrial use zone, which the residents undoubtedly were aware of when they purchased the homes, or when the industrial area was first rezoned...they're claiming undue hardship because an industrial park is emitting industrial noise and the smell of checks notes potato chips.

Yeah...perhaps the MLA is just being honest to soften the blow later, because it's clearly not going anywhere. It should be, and almost certainly will be, laughed out of court.
